Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman and wife push back against conservatorship bid citing personal progress
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher's son, Elijah Blue Allman, is pushing back against his mother's efforts to establish a conservatorship over his estate, asserting his commitment to sobriety and responsible financial management.
In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Elijah, along with his wife Marieangela King, presents a case against the conservatorship and makes serious accusations against Cher.
Cher's Son Elijah counters conservatorship claims with sobriety and financial responsibility
Elijah emphasizes that he is now sober, diligently handling his financial obligations, and dedicated to managing the quarterly payments from the trust established by his late father, renowned musician Greg Allman.
Cher has expressed concerns about Elijah's substance abuse and mental health, which he disputes in the legal filings.
Marieangela King, Elijah's wife, goes further in the legal documents, accusing Cher of orchestrating Elijah's kidnapping. She alleges that in October, Cher arranged for Elijah to be taken to a Mexican rehab facility under the guise of holistic therapy.
However, Marieangela claims it was a "makeshift prison-type facility" referred to as 'Baja Rehab,' where Elijah was held against his will.
According to the documents, Marieangela traveled daily from LA County to Rosarito to rescue Elijah from what she describes as captivity arranged by his mother. She asserts that Elijah spent two months in the facility until Mexican federal agents escorted him out and dropped him off at the border.
Cher vehemently denies these allegations of kidnapping.
In the docs, Elijah's wife also takes a shot at Cher, claiming the singer is "categorically unfit" to serve as Elijah's conservator after knowing her for 11 years.
The claim has been made by Marieangela that Cher does not drive, does not make her food, does not dress herself, and has told Marieangela that she is a "manic depressive."
While Elijah explains why he doesn't need a conservatorship, a court hearing is scheduled for March 6 to decide whether Cher will be appointed conservator anyway.
Cher faces criticism from sons Elijah Blue Allman and Chaz Bono amid conservatorship battle
Amid Cher's legal battle for conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman, both Elijah and his half-brother Chaz Bono have reportedly united against the iconic singer.
Cher, 77, is currently seeking conservatorship for Elijah, raising concerns from her sons about her ability to manage their lives while dealing with her affairs.
Chaz Bono, born to Cher and Sonny Bono, and Elijah Blue Allman, Cher's son with Gregg Allman, are said to view Cher's actions as hypocritical and question her suitability to control their lives.
The siblings allegedly share the sentiment that Cher was not an ideal mother, with Elijah reportedly experiencing a strained relationship with her during his upbringing.
A mole shared, “Elijah and Chaz think she's a hypocrite and has no business controlling their lives when she can't even manage her own life.”
“She was a terrible mother, they'll both attest to that. But Elijah perhaps felt the brunt of it. She shipped him off to boarding school when he was seven. He had no relationship with his father at that time and he felt shut out by his mom.”
The source also asserted that Cher “was a horrible influence. All she cared about was her career and men.”
According to insiders, Elijah and Chaz believe Cher prioritized her career and personal life over her role as a mother. The source revealed that Elijah, in particular, felt the impact as he was sent to boarding school at the age of seven, lacking a strong connection with his father at that time.
They continued, “What she wants is to control the money he gets from his late dad's trust. He thinks she's out of her mind.”
“He admits he has issues with addiction, but he just spent the last two months at rehab in Mexico,” the source added.
