VENICE, ITALY: Billionaire Jeff Bezos' opulent Italian wedding to fiancee Lauren Sanchez was intended to be a show-stopping celebration of love and luxury, but it has sparked internet buzz for an entirely unexpected reason.

Moments after saying ‘I do’ to the Amazon founder, 55-year-old Sanchez went on a mission to rebuild her Instagram image and posted a couple of behind-the-scenes photos from her wedding.

But while the newlywed bride sparkled in the front, it wasn't her floral-inspired lacy gown that drew the internet's attention. It was something far less polished: two awkward-looking Dolce & Gabbana atelier tailors in the background of Sanchez’s photos, according to the Daily Mail.

Lauren Sanchez's bridal photos go viral for all the wrong reasons

Sanchez exchanged vows with the 61-year-old billionaire on Friday, June 27, wearing a custom-made Dolce & Gabbana gown featuring intricate floral lace, a dramatic train, long sleeves, and a high neckline.

Shortly after the ceremony, Sanchez wiped her Instagram clean, reintroducing herself as Lauren Bezos. While rebuilding her Instagram image, the former journalist gave her followers a sneak peek into her extravagant wedding.

The only two posts that currently show on her Instagram include a photo of the newlywed standing hand-in-hand, which was uploaded alongside a simple date caption.

The other post is a well-curated carousel of backstage wedding preparation. In one of the snapshots, the Black Ops Aviation founder was seen standing inside a decadent room at the wedding venue, wearing her dress and showing off its dramatic silhouette.

The second black-and-white photo captured Sanchez posing gracefully in her gown, with designer Domenico Dolce himself adjusting her veil.

“Not just a gown, a piece of poetry,” she captioned the post, adding: “Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made.”

However, it wasn't Sanchez’s dazzling gown or celebrity designer cameo that drew the internet’s sharpest attention. Instead, eagle-eyed users zeroed in on two Dolce & Gabbana atelier tailors wearing outfits reminiscent of maid uniforms - consisting of white pinafores with black detailing to the collars and belt ties.

The duo appeared somewhat uncomfortable as they stood awkwardly in the background and looked at Lauren, who posed like a pro for the camera.

The two Dolce & Gabbana atelier tailors’ solemn expressions and uniform-like attire sparked a major internet buzz, with many users describing the scene as unsettling and out of touch.

“The faces of the women in the background says it all,” one user highlighted in her Instagram comments. “She willingly posted this. Ma'am. If ever there was an image to encapsulate this nightmare,” a second user wrote.

"It's giving Handmaid's Tale," a third user remarked, referring to the best-selling novel and hit series about a totalitarian country run by a religious regime that considers women state property.

"Why is this radicalizing me?" the fourth user quipped while the fifth one wrote, “Looks like a hostage video.”
