NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News contributor David Webb slammed MSNBC host Joy Reid for using identity politics to rip into GOP nominee Donald Trump's speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) during his appearance on the Saturday, July 20, episode of 'Fox & Friends'.

Accompanied by co-hosts Will Cain, Rachel Campos, and Pete Hegseth, Webb also discussed the theme of unity which the speakers tried to promote in their speeches at the convention. The rhetoric reflected the need to cool down a heated political race ahead of the general election, especially after the assassination attempt on former president Trump on July 13.

Fox News' David Webb derides MSNBC host Joy Reid

While covering the RNC on Thursday, July 18, MSNBC anchor Joy Reid said at a panel discussion that the GOP is "rooted in returning White, Christian men, but also, White-adjacent men... you know, Black men, Brown men who are White adjacent... in terms of also trying to be in that dominant position in society. And then you have women who are willing to go along with that. There is certain number of women who are also willing to... trad-wife sort of thing."

"Ah well, we're still here aren't we," Webb said disapprovingly on Saturday. "You know what, Joy Reid is a (Al) Sharpton-adjacent race-pin at MSNBC. And sadly she is still somewhat relevant to a dwindling audience, to a disgruntled audience, to people who simply are stuck in that mode," he added.

"But the fact is that there is no such thing as a White-adjacent anything. No such thing as a White-adjacent Black man, Brown man, woman, whatever she wants to call it. You know, hyperbole is something you do in comedy, in performances, but what this is is performative lying to the American people."

"The good news in some sense ... is that she is becoming more and more irrelevant as her audience and her network dies," he quipped.

David Webb on the theme of unity at the RNC

Earlier in the show, David Webb spoke about unity being a central theme at the 2024 RNC.

"The goal of the convention is to come out a bit with unity- unity around the platform as it's laid out, unity to go forward and work for the party's objectives, that's the goal," he shared.

"However, the Democrats fear something else- the unity of the American people. We are under attack from Biden's policies, whether it is his attempts to buy votes, his energy policies, his border policy, or lack of one- all of the things that the Biden administration and the Democrats at every level of government have been pushing on the American people," Webb added.

"And the American people, not just the Republicans, are unified, in the pain they feel at the pump, the cost of goods and services that are going up, and the fact that companies cannot expand the lines, they can't grow, they can't hire... and there are many issues. So the American people are unified in their response to the bad policy and what they are feeling, and the party has found a way to put that all together, do it effectively," he further said.
