Trump mocked for forgetting to name Eric during SC primary victory speech despite standing onstage with him
CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: Donald Trump found himself the target of online ridicule on Saturday night, February 24, after an awkward moment during his South Carolina primary victory speech.
While thanking his family for their support, the ex-POTUS rattled off a list of his wife and children in attendance but noticeably omitted mentioning his son Eric Trump, who was standing right beside him on stage, as per Business Insider.
Trump:My family… Don Jr. and Kimberly, ivanka and Jared, Tiffany and Michael, they are so supportive. So supportive, we really appreciate it and love them. (No Eric?) pic.twitter.com/NH5E00ZFtJ

Donald Trump apparently relied on notecards to recite the names of his family members
During the speech in question, Trump looked at notecards and read, "May I have the pleasure of introducing some incredible people. Because they stuck right from the beginning from the very moment we announced, and they believe in Make America Great Again. That's what they believe in. They believe in America first."
"We're putting America first. First of all, my family, Melania, Barron, Don Jr and Kimberly, Ivanka and Jared, Tiffany and Michael, they are so so supportive. So supportive of me, and we really appreciate it and love them. We have a great family."
Noticeably absent from that list was any mention of his second son, Eric, 40, who serves as Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. The onstage flub has raised further questions about the ex-POTUS' cognitive fitness and ability to handle the rigors of the presidency.
Donald Trump committed a number of gaffes on the campaign trail
Over the past several months, Trump has committed numerous blunders on his campaign trail, including confusing his GOP rival Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi and repeatedly mixing up President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama.
Haley had zeroed in on his age and possible mental decline as a key line of attack against him, but that strategy ultimately fell flat, with Trump dominating the South Carolina primary.
Trump's three eldest children, Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric, have played crucial roles in their father's presidential campaigns. Acting as surrogates, they frequently appeared on the campaign trail during his first two runs.
While Ivanka expressed her decision to step away from politics for his third run, Don Jr and Eric remained steadfast supporters.
Internet mocks Donald Trump for forgetting to name Eric Trump during victory speech
Social media erupted in mockery as Trump forgot to name Eric during his South Carolina primary victory speech.
One remarked, "It was work for him to remember all of those names," and another pointed out, "If he had to read it off a card and still got it wrong, he has a problem."
A person noted, "That is A LOT of checking notes for naming your family," while someone else quipped, "Anybody else find it hilarious that he had to read his wife's and children's names? Didn't even notice one was missing."
"Had to read … couldn’t remember family members' names," said an individual. One more expressed, "He had to read that? And he still forgot Eric and Lara!"
