DETROIT, MICHIGAN: On Saturday, June 15, during his speech at the Turning Point Action convention in Detroit, former President Donald Trump expressed his doubts regarding President Joe Biden's mental fitness and suggested that the 81-year-old Democrat statesman should take a cognitive test.

However, in a moment of contradiction, the MAGA figurehead incorrectly stated the name of the doctor who had administered the test to him during his presidency.

"He doesn't even know what the word 'inflation' means. I think he should take a cognitive test like I did," Trump said of the incumbent.

A few moments later, he continued, "Doc Ronny Johnson. Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history, so I liked him very much indeed immediately."

The White House doctor Trump was referring to is named Ronny Jackson, not Ronny Johnson, according to Newsweek.

Jackson, who served as the White House physician for part of Trump's presidency, is now a Republican lawmaker from Texas and one of the ex-president's most vocal advocates in Congress.

Trump’s opponents react to his onstage gaffe while deriding Biden

Donald Trump celebrated his 78th birthday on Friday, June 14, and has focused on questioning whether 81-year-old Biden is capable of serving a second term.

However, critics were swift to pounce on his slipup on Saturday night, and the Biden campaign shared a clip of the moment shortly after.

The POTUS’s reelection campaign team on X, which goes by ‘Biden-Harris HQ,’ responded to Trump’s botched attempt at recalling the White House physician-turned Republican congressman’s name, saying, "Trump: I think Biden should take a cognitive test. My doctor Ronny Johnson. Ronny Johnson, do you know him? (His name is Ronny Jackson)"

In 2018, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment was administered to former President Trump at his voluntary request, as indicated by Rep Ronny Jackson (R-TX).

The said assessment is tailored to identify early signs of memory loss and other forms of mild cognitive impairment.

The cognitive assessment encompasses tasks such as remembering a list of spoken words, reciting a sequence of random numbers in reverse order, enumerating as many words commencing with a specific letter within a minute, accurately sketching a cube, and describing the similarities between two objects like a train and a bicycle.

Following the examination, Trump articulated his recollection of a specific sequence of words: "Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV."

Conversely, the Biden campaign has persistently fended off criticism concerning the President's verbal blunders by contending that they do not impinge on his capacity to govern the country.

President Biden, who openly acknowledges his lifelong struggle with stuttering, has disregarded apprehensions surrounding his cognitive prowess and has cited his legislative achievements as a testament to his competency.

In April, a prominent psychologist, while speaking on the 'David Pakman Show', opined about a discernible decline in Trump's mental acuity, characterizing it to be "faltering in a very dangerous way."

Harry Segal, a distinguished psychology lecturer at Cornell University, cast doubts on the former President's mental health and claimed that Trump's "cognitive decline as being another layer of danger on top of an already erratic, mentally challenged person who shouldn't be anywhere near the White House."

With the 2024 presidential race inching closer, the mental acuity of both candidates will undoubtedly remain a contested issue.

Nonetheless, Donald Trump's recent blunder in challenging President Biden's cognitive capabilities may inadvertently undermine his own argument while serving as ammunition for his adversaries.

Internet ridicules irony of Trump getting WH physician's name wrong while attacking Biden's mental fitness

One X user remarked, "Trump’s self-own on his mental decline was spectacular."

Another user wrote, "Idiot is calling for Biden to take a cognitive test as he gets the name of his doctor wrong. You just can’t make up this shit."

Someone else said, "Even if both them did a cognitive test with an independent evaluator, trump would claim it was rigged if the results were not favorable. He is so pathetically predictable."

One user claimed, "Its always what they accuse others of that theyre the guilty party."

Another quipped, "Rep ronny jackson will be changing his name to johnson now, so as to save trump from ridicule."

An X user tweeted, "EAIAC Every accusation is a confession."
