Drew Barrymore and Selma Blair termed ‘creepy’ after they sniff each other’s armpits mid-interview

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selma Blair “can’t believe” she landed herself in a stinky situation involving Drew Barrymore. 

The 52-year-old Blair appeared to surprise herself along with her fans after appearing on Barrymore’s namesake show where the two women paused their interview on camera to take a sniff at each other’s armpits!

Appearing on the Tuesday, February 11, episode of ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the ‘Cruel Intentions’ actress and the host found themselves in the bizarre situation when Barrymore confessed she has a liking for men’s T-shirts with “smelly pits.”

During Tuesday’s episode, Drew Barrymore gushed about liking men’s T-shirts, before admitting that she particularly adores the ones which have a “little bit of a smelly pit” to them, per Entertainment Weekly.

Barrymore’s friend and actress, Valerie Bertinelli, who was also present there, summed up the situation, before explaining the reason behind Barrymore’s soft spot for shirts with odors. 

"It’s because you don’t smell!” Bertinelli explained when an interested Blair leaned toward Barrymore to have a sniff. The ‘Valerie’s Home Cooking’ star summed up, “So you like other smells!”

The 49-year-old talk show host admitted that she does not smell indeed, but opened up the flap of her brown jacket to do a short smell test. Satisfied, she held it open for a curious Blair to take a sniff. 

The ‘Legally Blonde’ actress exclaimed, “Are we really here right now?” before leaning in and inhaling Barrymore’s scent. After conducting her smell test, Blair declared, “Nothing,” before emphasizing again, “Nothing."

Moments later, Blair had an epiphanic moment when she realized, they were, in fact, very much still on camera, and their antics were all recorded. 

Turning toward the audience, the ‘Hellboy’ actress confessed, "I can’t believe I did that on air."

Barrymore too played along as she jokingly added, "I have other issues, but scent isn’t one of them.”

But it was not only Blair who found herself embarking on the adventure, as Barrymore too joined in and leaned forward to sniff the ‘A Dirty Shame’ actress’s armpits, leading her to only exclaim at the prospect. 

Covering her face with her hand, Blair declared, "Oh no, you will not be happy!” 

Nevertheless, she passed the smell test with flying colors, as Barrymore declared after taking a sniff, "Perfect!" before adding, "Great!"

Blair, who was previously clammed up, then loosened a bit and lifted her arm to allow the ‘Scream’ actress to have a second sniff. This time too, Barrymore found it perfect, as she exclaimed “Nothing!”

Bertinelli, nevertheless, refrained from joining the duo in their antics, as she declared laughingly, "I’m not raising my arm.”

Apart from having fun and light-hearted conversations, the pair also had a serious talk about Blair’s multiple sclerosis (MS) struggle, as reported by the New York Post.

Blair, who was first diagnosed with MS in 2018, shared on Tuesday, “I did have a relapse and I didn’t, even really want to face that.”

The actress continued, “So the first thing I had to do was to find a doctor again because I had stopped seeing doctors because I thought I was fine but then I didn’t feel fine it turned out I did have a relapse and so I, I found a doctor that could, really listen to me and it was a female doctor and that really helped me just so many different things I wasn’t aware of.”

“So this is just to encourage people to start talking about it,” explained the actress during the episode.
