BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY: Philadelphia Eagles standout running back Saquon Barkley has sparked a wave of controversy online after being spotted hanging out with President Donald Trump at Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.

While many expected Barkley’s offseason to be focused on relaxation and training, his interactions with Trump have quickly become a divisive topic among fans. Critics have questioned his association with the politically polarizing figure, raising concerns about its potential impact on Barkley’s endorsement deals and public image.

This moment came ahead of the Eagles' White House visit on Monday, which was held to celebrate their Super Bowl win.

Also visible on the table were several "Make America Great Again" hats, though Barkley wasn’t wearing one, as per DailyMail.

Barkley’s apparent comfort around Trump and his family seems to contrast with his teammate, quarterback Jalen Hurts, who hinted in a recent interview that he might skip the White House visit altogether.

During an interview with TIME on Thursday, Hurts was asked if he planned to attend. He responded with a hesitant, “Ermmmm,” followed by silence, leading to an awkward end to the conversation.

Trump told reporters that Barkley is a "nice guy" and mentioned that he had considered racing him but ultimately decided against it, as per CBS News.

The two were seen disembarking from Marine One at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey.

I’m just trying to hit the golf course before they ask me to put on one of those cult hats. Ain’t no way I’m rocking a ‘Make America Grift Again’ cap today.”"

A commenter shared, "If true, this is dirty work, @saquon this really makes me think a whole lot less of you as a person. Thought of him as a great player and person and I’m not an eagles fan. When you choose to spend time with a vile, disgusting, terrible human POS. So disappointing in @saquon".

A user slammed, "What a loser."
