Sam Levinson remembers Eric Dane after his death

Eric Dane, famously known for his roles as Dr Mark Sloan in 'Grey’s Anatomy' and as Cal Jacobs in 'Euphoria', died on Thursday, ten months after revealing his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Despite the physical challenges of the disease, he remained dedicated to his craft and completed scenes for the upcoming third season of the HBO hit.

His family noted that he was "surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world" during his final moments.

Meanwhile, HBO also released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the news of Eric Dane’s passing. He was incredibly talented and HBO was fortunate to have worked with him on three seasons of Euphoria. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”

Fans to see Eric Dane's last performance on April 12

Even while he was sick, Dane kept working as an actor, including a moving performance on ‘Brilliant Minds’ where he played a character going through the same health battle he was facing in real life.

Speaking on his drive to stay on set, Dane previously told E! News, "It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward. I feel great when I'm at work. Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks, but I feel pretty good. My spirit is always pretty buoyant, so at the end of the day, that's all that matters."

Fans will be able to see his final performances when 'Euphoria' Season 3 debuts on April 12.
