The claim originated from a Facebook satirical account, as indicated by the account's bio, “A subsidiary of the America’s Last Line of Defense network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.”

The article was also published by Dunning-Kruger-Times, a subsidiary of the same entity, “America’s Last Line of Defense” network. Likewise, the website's 'About Us' section suggests that the content is intended for satire. It read, "Everything on this website is fiction."
