LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Glen Powell effectively knocked down a recent comparison to actor Ryan Gosling along with the assertion that the 'Anyone But You' star is the biggest up-and-coming movie star in Hollywood.

An unnamed Hollywood producer complimented Powell but took a backhanded jab at the 'Barbie' star, suggesting that Gosling is more appealing to women than Powell, who is liked by both genders.

Glen Powell quips he's 'just Glen' while Ryan Gosling 'is a legend'

According to The Wrap, an unidentified Hollywood executive said of the 35-year-old 'Anyone But You' star, "Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling whose appeal is mostly limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both females and males."

Powell added his own thoughts to the statement and reshared it on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). "Gosling is a legend. I'm just Glen," Powell said, alluding to the 2023 'Barbie' song, 'I'm Just Ken.'

The producer added, "Glen Powell is most definitely an up-and-coming movie star in the sense that audiences now go to movies to see him," besides drawing the Gosling comparison.

However, the statement infuriated fans and they reminded the producer of the wide range of Gosling's body of work.

While Gosling's performance as Ken in the 2023 summer hit 'Barbie' catapulted him to stardom, his professional career also includes a number of other noteworthy roles.

Glen Powell undergoes outrageous makeover for new satirical series 'Chad Powers'

The anonymous Hollywood executive praised Powell just a few days after the actor's dramatic makeover for a new role had fans going crazy - some even confused him for Tom Cruise.

Hulu unveiled an official photo of the actor in the new comedy series a day after Daily Mail published set photos of the unrecognizable actor from the set.

The Hollywood star played down his good looks in the photo by wearing yellow shorts, an armband, and a short-sleeved blue sports T-shirt. "Think fast, run fast. Glen Powell is #ChadPowers in Hulu’s new comedy series," the caption said.

The official synopsis for the comedy reads: "When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday's college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers."

Per Variety, Clooney remarked of Hollywood, "They haven’t developed stars the way the studio system used to."

Clooney added, "We kind of were at the very end of that, where you could work at a studio and do three or four films, and there was some plan to it."
