BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: A former cellmate of Gypsy Rose Blanchard called her a "liar" over her claim that she was not provided with therapy while behind bars.

In December 2023, three weeks after she was released from prison, Blanchard sat down with Kim Kardashian for a candid interview, which was part of the July 11 episode of Hulu's 'The Kardashians'.

She told the SKIMS owner that the officials at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri denied her one-on-one therapy and stated that she had to "really deal with the trauma" on her own, as reported by The Independent.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard's former cellmate says the prison did provide help for mental health

After the episode was aired, Gypsy Rose Blanchard's former cellmate, Rachell Garlick, claimed that she was lying, according to OK! Magazine.

In a TikTok video, she claimed, "This is for you, Kim: Gypsy lied straight to your face. Because all you got to do is fly a kite and go to mental health, I did it."

She further asserted, "Put me on a lie detector test. Seriously. Because she told me she did not need help, that she's fine. You can get help in prison. Especially the prison that we went to because I'm doing good. I took prison for what it was. It teaches you stability."

Besides, another internet personality Katie Paulson shared on Instagram, "Gypsy Rose Blanchard has repeatedly lied that she did not qualify for therapy while in prison."

"According to the Missouri Dept of Corrections, all inmates have access to mental health care at any time. An initial evaluation is done at the beginning of intake," pointed out Paulson.

She added, "However, inmates can go to the mental health unit at any time and request one one-on-one therapy. Gypsy repeatedly declined to partake in therapy while incarcerated... There is a reason that therapy is a stipulation of her release."

Internet slams Gypsy Rose Blanchard for 'lying' about not getting help in prison

Netizens were outraged when Gypsy Rose Blanchard's former cellmate pointed out that she wasn't being truthful about not receiving help for her mental health in prison.

An Instagram user said, "I knew it! For my work, I read medical records and I’ve never seen a prisoner denied therapy after a murder conviction."

One wrote, “My question is, why does she blatantly lie to the public about this stuff when it can easily be fact-checked and disproven?? Does she not think that people will cross-reference her claims and call her out for it??"

"I'd love to hear more from Rachel bc she was a close friend of Gypsys and could call her out on sooooo much," noted a person, while someone else asked, "Didn’t she say in one of the episodes that she did have therapy in prison? I’m pretty sure I remember her saying that," possibly referring to her reality show.

"She lies so much, she lies about things that are so easily fact-checked. Like wtf," remarked another person, while one more said, "Yeah I definitely thought this was strange when she said this…. I’m like whaattt?!?! Of course, she would of had something offered to her."
