Hugh Jackman's old pals worried about him as he has 'ditched a lot of people' to adopt new lifestyle

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Although Hugh Jackman is using meditation to change his life, his old friends are concerned that he might be in a dark place because the actor has "ditched a lot of people in his life."

Sources revealed to Closer Weekly that Jackman's lifestyle adjustments could have a bad long-term impact on him regarding the "new theater buddies that he’s spending most of his time with."

"It’s clear Hugh has fallen into a far looser lifestyle. He might show up for the occasional night out with Ryan Reynolds, but in reality, he’s got these new theater buddies that he’s spending most of his time with," a source told Closer.

The source added, "He’s ditched a lot of people in his life that were steady influences and seems to be putting his whole focus on this new crowd. They’re all a lot younger than him and pretty wild."

Recently, the 56-year-old actor, who last appeared on Broadway in 'The Music Man', addressed his experience with meditation. He stated that he began to meditate because he believed it would "help" him in his acting career.

The 'Logan' actor, who is back on the market after divorcing his wife Deborra-Lee in 2023 after almost three decades of marriage, has been raising concern among his old pals.

The source noted, "Hugh can be very easily influenced, and he can be quite naive. So of course his old circle is worried about him."

"It’s great that he has this new interest in transcendental meditation, but he needs a good deal more than that because he’s very burnt out after all the stress with [the release of this year’s] Deadpool," they said.

According to the insider, Jackman "really put himself through the ringer" for 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' starring his 48-year-old friend Ryan and bringing in over $1 billion globally.

The source advised, "He needs to slow down and go somewhere quiet and peaceful away from the busyness of New York City that’s kind of consuming him right now."
