NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hollywood was buzzing with barely contained laughter last week after Hilaria Baldwin’s red carpet spat with her husband Alec Baldwin went viral. Now, insiders are suggesting that the incident could be seen as "karma" for the actor's behavior throughout the years.

The viral footage showed yoga instructor Hilaria, 41, snapping at her 66-year-old husband as he interrupted her during a red-carpet interview.

As Alec mumbled an apology, Hilaria firmly doubled down, throwing her hands up and asserting, “When I’m talking, you’re not talking!”

Hours later, the couple lightened the mood by sharing a playful video joking about the red carpet clash, poking fun at "man-interrupting" and "correctile dysfunction."

People are enjoying Alec Baldwin’s public humiliation by his wife Hilaria, claims insider

A former studio executive told Daily Mail on Sunday, March 23, that the public humiliation of Alec Baldwin, a man who was once feared in Hollywood, has brought satisfaction to those who were affected by his aggressive behavior.

The former executive claimed, “People are relishing the fact that karma has finally come for Alec. He terrorized movie sets for years with his behavior, and now he’s being publicly ridiculed by his much younger wife. It’s delightful. There’s only one person wearing the pants in that household, and it ain’t Alec.”

Concerns about Alec have intensified after Hilaria echoed the same sentiments she expressed on the red carpet during her appearance on NBC’s 'Today'. She repeated, "Since I met Alec, a lot of people have spoken for me, have taken my narrative," she said, before adding, "I don’t want that anymore."

Alec’s public embarrassment marks a significant shift in the public’s perception of the couple, which until recently had seen Alec as the dominant figure in their 12-year marriage.

Alec Baldwin has 'learned from past mistakes'

Eric Schiffer, from Reputation Management Consultants, explained, “Alec is someone who was known in Hollywood for being macho, for flying off the handle, for being aggressive.”

Schiffer also discussed Alec’s previous marriage to his first wife Kim Basinger and the “appalling” way he treated their daughter Ireland. He criticized Alec for using inappropriate language when he didn’t get an answer after calling her.

Schiffer added, “Clearly he’s worked on his anger management issues to keep his current wife and family together. He’s learned from past mistakes, which is an admirable trait.”

While Eric Schiffer acknowledged Alec Baldwin’s progress in managing his anger issues, he also analyzed the red carpet spat with his wife Hilaria and described it as an “abomination.”

He stated, “But what happened on the red carpet between Hilaria and Alec is an abomination. It’s not healthy for either partner.”

“He was utterly humiliated in public which, much as they want to joke about it, will have been devastating for an old-school macho man like Alec,” Schiffer continued.

Talking about the incident, he added, “Hilaria comes across as unhinged. She’s pushing her way in front of the cameras and the dynamic is very much one of a young, attention-seeking spouse and an older husband who is desperately trying not to upset her.”

Another former colleague, who worked with Alec on the 1990 thriller 'The Hunt for Red October', also praised his change, saying, “I hadn’t seen him in years. He always had anger issues, he made no secret of them. In the early days of his career, he was drinking and doing drugs and, I think, that added to his volatility."

The former colleague continued, "He got out of Hollywood and went to New York. People in LA couldn’t stand him and we were happy to see him go, and I think the feeling was mutual. After he and Kim split up he wanted to get the hell out. Alec was never going to lead an uneventful life."

“But I watch him with Hilaria in the reality TV show, I think it’s sweet. He clearly adores her and she’s given him the family he’s always wanted,” the insider added.
