WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, has once again issued a warning to Speaker Mike Johnson, stating that his tenure is limited.

Greene expressed her concerns about the $60 billion that Congress approved for Ukraine last week in foreign aid bill packages.

Greene cautioned Johnson and other congressional leaders that this could lead to American troops being deployed in Ukraine. “Mike Johnson will provide them with the permanent funding for Ukraine that they desire,” Greene stated on X.

“They don’t consider peace as an option because it doesn’t align with the government’s war business and economic model, which is repugnant and revolting,” she further added.

“Their strategy is to continue funding the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine. When that fails, after all the Ukrainian men have been killed, they will deploy American troops," she predicted.

"Johnson will do whatever Biden/Schumer want to retain the Speaker’s gavel, but he has completely betrayed the Republican voters who gave us the majority," Greene continued.

Greene was quoting a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the US and Ukraine are working on "fixing specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years."

Mike Johnson feels pressure from other Republicans

Even as Johnson received praise for the $95 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, he also had to face criticism.

Republicans Thomas Massie and Paul Gosar, have joined Greene’s motion to remove Johnson from the speakership.

The motion has not yet been brought to the floor, and Greene has been vague about any timeline that could prompt her to move it forward.

“Mike Johnson’s Speakership is over,” Greene told Fox News’s ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ earlier this month. “He needs to do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process.”

Some hardliners have vocally opposed Greene’s motion. Matt Gaetz suggested on his podcast earlier this month that someone in his party might be ‘bribed’ to allow Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries to become speaker.

“I do believe in a one-seat majority, there could be one or two or three of my colleagues who would take a bribe in one form or another in order to deprive the Republicans of having a majority at all," said Gaetz according to Daily Mail.

Bob Good, a critic of Speaker Johnson and leader of the Freedom Caucus, believes Johnson hasn’t done well as a speaker. However, he thinks it’s too late to replace him in the upcoming elections.

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's statement against Mike Johnson

The Internet users on X had mixed responses regarding Greene's expression against Speaker Johnson.

“Blah blah blah his days as speaker are numbered. Seriously, just do it already and stop harping about it every single day!” wrote one on X.

Another wrote, “Perfect. What Marjorie is saying is that she will seek to fundraise, from working against US national security, for as long as Ukraine exists.”

One more wrote, “This tweet by Marge has been expressly approved by none other than Vladimir Putin.”

Another said, “MTG just screaming into the darkness the past few weeks.”

“MGT we need to get Mike Johnson out of office ASAP! He’s a Traitor and is compromised by the military industrial complex,” wrote one in support.

One more wrote, “Our country and the American people are being utterly betrayed. Continued funding and funding of war in Ukraine is NOT in our national interest and NOT what the citizens want.”

“It will change once Trump wins,” observed another.

One took a jibe alleging that Johnson was, “Money laundering for Democrats.”

“Love ya Marjorie, less talk more action please,” suggested one.
