Internet backs Biden as POTUS brands 2024 race as 'weirdest' and highlights polls showing lead over Trump
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: President Joe Biden branded the 2024 presidential race as "the weirdest campaign" he has ever been engaged in, reported Mediaite.
During a visit to his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday, February 3, the current officeholder subtly criticized his potential opponent and predecessor, Donald Trump, without explicitly mentioning him by name.
Expressing contentment and delight with his current position, the President remarked, "You know, folks are starting to focus in, and the guy we're running against, he is — he's not for anything, he's against everything. And no, I mean it, it's the weirdest campaign I've ever been engaged in; it's even worse in terms of his behavior than the last time in 2020."
Biden, who won the South Carolina Democratic primary with little opposition, was joined by Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Since declaring his re-election bid, the incumbent has focused on attacking Trump, mainly concentrating on the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, labeling the former President on multiple occasions as a "threat to democracy."
Biden cites polls showing lead over Trump
Biden underscored his lead over his predecessor by pointing to polls as supporting evidence for his assertions.
"But folks, things are — people are beginning to focus and they're beginning to focus and the polling data, everything is picking up across the board and new Quinnipiac poll, national poll, has us beating him 50-44," The President claimed.
"Our neighbor state of Pennsylvania Susquehanna poll has us beating 47-39. Another one in Pennsylvania, 42-37. And by the way, in New Hampshire we weren't on the ballot, we couldn't campaign there. But guess what? We got 64% of the vote."

However, recent CNN polls contradicted Biden's claims, according to which 49% of registered voters opted to support Trump while only 45% backed the President. And 5% said they would vote for a third candidate.
Besides criticizing the Republican frontrunner, the incumbent also doubled down on his claims that world leaders, including members of G-20 and G-7, urging him to defeat Trump because their countries were "at stake."
The former President's decisive victories in Iowa and New Hampshire have strengthened his position as the potential nominee to face Biden in November.
