LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift's political activism has become a major point of intrigue ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Comments made recently by former CNN anchor Don Lemon predicting that the music superstar could influence the race have gone viral online.

Lemon's bold forecast that Swift could help secure President Joe Biden's re-election if she endorses the president has divided opinions across social media.

While Swift herself has not yet indicated if she plans to be involved in the 2024 election, the speculation underscores the pop icon's emerging power to shape political discourse through her massive public platform.

Don Lemon says Taylor Swift's influence could benefit Joe Biden

In an interview with TMZ at LAX airport on Friday, February 2, Lemon asserted that Swift has immense influence that could benefit Biden if she opts to publicly support him like she did in 2020.

Lemon stated that Swift wields tremendous power and impact, and he gives her credit for fighting for her music catalog and becoming a hugely successful artist. He warned supporters of potential Republican nominee Donald Trump not to downplay Swift's potential influence, saying underestimating her could ruin Trump's chances of retaking the White House.

Lemon's comments follow speculation that Trump allies are preparing to vigorously oppose Swift if she endorses Biden again. The former anchor argues Trump would need more than attacks to counter Swift's endorsement.

Backing up Lemon's perspective, FOX11 political reporter Elex Michaelson said on 'TMZ Live' a few days back that Trump challenging Swift and her fiercely loyal fanbase known as 'Swifties' carries risks.

Michaelson proposed Trump could also use a Swift endorsement against Biden by portraying it as evidence of Hollywood elitism. This strategy could potentially energize Trump supporters.

Internet divided on Don Lemon's remarks about Taylor Swift's potential impact

Following Lemon's remarks on Swift's potential impact on the 2024 election, the internet was notably divided in its reactions. One enthusiastic X user exclaimed, "Let's go Taylor!!!!" Meanwhile, another user expressed a more tempered sentiment, stating, "We could only hope."

Another user chimed in, asserting, "Totally agree! She’s the key to bringing in more suburban voters for the Dems!" Conversely, someone proposed a strategic move for Trump, suggesting, "Smartest thing Trump could do is say how much he likes her and what positive role model she is for the young woman of America. They'd have no clue how to react to that."

Adding a touch of humor, one user remarked, "Now this is hilarious." Another user highlighted an interesting point, writing, "A majority of people who follow her can’t even vote yet."
