WASHINGTON, DC: The internet erupted after President Donald Trump withdrew his support for Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The unexpected feud follows Greene’s recent criticism of Trump’s policies, including his handling of foreign affairs and the Jeffrey Epstein files, and her question of whether he is still putting “America First.”

Social media exploded Friday night (November 14) after President Donald Trump and Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), publicly clashed in a dramatic meltdown.

Journalists, political commentators, and activists from across the political spectrum quickly reacted online, with many expressing shock, and for some, outright amusement.

Sam Stein, managing editor of The Bulwark, exclaimed, “Wow. Trump dumps MTG WHAT A NIGHT.”

Right-wing influencer Laura Loomer mocked, “You love to see it!”

Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan warned, “A reminder that Trump is loyal to no one. No one.”

Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson invited Greene to the other side, writing, “Welcome to the resistance” in response to her reply to Trump.

One user claimed, “This fallout with Marjorie Taylor Greene marks the beginning of the end for MAGA. It’s quickly approaching the time Trump’s endorsement will be worse than the plague for Republican lawmakers. Bookmark this tweet.”

Democratic influencer Harry Sisson called the feud a sign that Trump “is completely spiraling right now. The MAGA civil war just got even worse.”

Wall Street Journal reporter Josh Dawsey noted, “After 10 years, the tweets (truths) don’t stun like they once did. But his post tonight unendorsing MTG is really worth a read.”

Lincoln Project co-founder Mike Madrid joked, “She’s gonna be a great new hostess on The View.”

What happened between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Trump?

Marjorie Taylor Greene accused President Trump of attacking her to discourage other Republicans from supporting the release of Jeffrey Epstein files.

On Friday night, while traveling to his Florida home, Trump posted on X, “All I see "Wacky" Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”

He claimed Greene turned on him after he suggested she shouldn’t run for governor or senator. “She has told many people that she is upset that I don't return her phone calls anymore,” Trump said, adding, “I can't take a ranting Lunatic's call every day.”

Trump also said voters in Greene’s district “are fed up with her and her antics,” and promised that if the right candidate runs, they would receive his “complete and unyielding support.”

Trump has faced criticism from both parties over his handling of the Department of Justice files related to Epstein, the late financier.

Greene is one of four House Republicans, including Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and Thomas Massie, who joined Democrats in signing a petition to release the Epstein files. In response to Trump, Greene posted on X that he was targeting her to intimidate other Republicans ahead of next week’s vote.

“He's coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files,” she wrote. “It's astonishing really how hard he's fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level.”

In recent days, Greene has criticized Trump for not doing enough to lower costs for voters and for his foreign policy and tariff decisions. She has also condemned his handling of the Epstein files. “I truly just stand with the women, and I think they deserve to be the ones that we're fighting for,” Greene told CBS News earlier on Friday, November 14.
