NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to call out Speaker Mike Johnson, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally thanked him for his efforts to pass the foreign aid legislation through the House of Representatives on Saturday, April 20.

According to ABC News, Ukraine has been allocated $60.8 billion in the legislation, which also earmarked $26.4 billion for Israel and $8 billion for Taiwan and other Indo-Pacific allies in separate bills. Senate approval for the legislation is expected to be received by Tuesday, April 23, according to Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Greene, who was strongly opposed to sending foreign aid without first resolving the border crisis in the United States, claimed that Johnson "betrayed America" by pushing through the bills, and doubled down on her stance of ousting him from his role as the Speaker.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Greene retweeted Zelenskyy's post on Saturday afternoon, which read, "I am grateful to the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track."

"Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect it. The vital U.S. aid bill passed today by the House will keep the war from expanding, save thousands and thousands of lives, and help both of our nations to become stronger," continued the Ukrainian President.

"Just peace and security can only be attained through strength. We hope that bills will be supported in the Senate and sent to President Biden’s desk. Thank you, America!"

Mentioning Johnson as a 'Democratic representative for Ukraine,' Greene wrote in her post, "Zelensky thanks Speaker Mike Johnson (D-Ukraine) for sending $61 BILLION of your hard-earned tax dollars to fuel a foreign war. Johnson once again passed a bill with the help of Democrats while the majority of the Republican majority voted against it. Not only is Mike Johnson a traitor to our conference, he’s a traitor to our country."
