NYC, NEW YORK: In his Wednesday night monologue, Jimmy Kimmel delved into newly released court documents that reveal Donald Trump's increasingly desperate attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.

The 165-page filing from special counsel Jack Smith offers detailed accounts of Trump’s strategies and actions leading up to and following the election.

Kimmel questions Trump's belief in election fraud, highlights deceptive tactics and absurd behavior

Jimmy Kimmel posed a pivotal question, “Sometimes I would wonder, does Trump really believe that this election was stolen from him?”

He concluded, “And the answer is no, he doesn’t. His plan all along was to declare himself the winner even if he wasn’t.”

The comedian highlighted the stark evidence in the documents that illustrated Trump's deceptive tactics. “He deliberately spread lies, even though he privately admitted they were crazy lies,” Kimmel remarked.

He also pointed out Trump's direct involvement in the fake electors scheme, humorously adding, “He stole all the Oreos from the White House snack cabinet.”

Kimmel further noted the absurdity of Trump's behavior, including a particular incident aboard Marine One where Trump told his family, “It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election, you still have to fight like hell.”

Kimmel speculated about which daughter and son-in-law he was referring to, jokingly comparing it to a game of Clue: “Colonel ketchup did it with a shrimp fork in the dining room.”

The monologue also brought attention to Trump’s relentless pressure on former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election results.

Kimmel shared an anecdote from Christmas Day when Trump, in the middle of a holiday greeting, pressed Pence about his role as president of the Senate, saying, “You know, I don’t think I have the authority to change the outcome.”

Kimmel highlights concerns about Trump's fading campaign energy

Kimmel emphasized the absurdity of Trump’s demands, quipping, “Can you imagine calling a guy to wish him a Merry Christmas? He’s like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. I need you to commit some treason for me. It’s Christmas treason.’”

Transitioning to a lighter note, Kimmel humorously critiqued Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s recent debate performance, noting, “JD Vance managed to present himself as polite and polished,” while also pointing out Vance’s audacity to claim, “Trump peacefully handed over power,” describing it as “so brazenly false you might as well say Trump was our first Black president.”

As Kimmel wrapped up, he highlighted the public's growing concern about Trump's fading energy and enthusiasm, stating, “It really seems like Trump is running out of steam.”

He concluded with a nod to the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of voter participation, “We are now 33 days away from the election… this November, because it’s the only way you stop what’s about to hit you upside your dumb head.”
