LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joey King who portrayed Gypsy Rose Blanchard in the 2019 hit series 'The Act' streaming on Hulu, shared her heartfelt sentiments regarding the former inmate's post-prison life.

Following her release from prison after serving a seven-year sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder charges in 2016 for the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, she has embarked on a new chapter of her life alongside her husband Ryan Anderson, and their puppy, Pixie.

Joey King is 'happy' for Gypsy Rose Blanchard's new chapter of her life

Emphasizing her belief in Blanchard's right to pursue her desires freely, King who also married 'The' Act director Steven Piet in September 2023 said she can do "whatever she wants."

"Gypsy is free, she can do whatever she wants," the actress said of Blanchard who suffered Munchausen by proxy at the hands of her late mother.

In June 2022, Blanchard who was still serving her sentence married Anderson in a prison ceremony.

"I'm excited for her and her journey and whatever that looks like for her. I'm happy for her. I’m really happy for her," King told ET at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.

When the 32-year-old was released from prison, King shared her thoughts about Blanchard's freedom as she said at the time, “I’m so happy that she’s released," adding the former inmate "deserves freedom."

Joey King says 'one day' she will meet Gypsy Rose Blanchard

Despite the curiosity among fans about a potential meeting between King and Blanchard, the actress admitted that geographical distance has made it difficult for a meet-up.

"We have not had a chance to meet up. We are in different parts of the United States," the 'Kissing Booth' star said of the Louisiana-based Blanchard.

"Maybe one day we will but for now I’m just so happy that she’s able to kind of have her life back," she told ET.

Joey King reflects on exploring her ancestry in upcoming series

King is gearing up for her next project 'We Were the Lucky Ones.' The highly anticipated miniseries set to premiere on March 28 is an adaptation of the Georgia Hunter book with the same title about a Polish Jewish family's harrowing experiences of being torn apart during World War II.
