Joy Behar claims Trump deliberately tanked the market to declare 'martial law and become a dictator'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar made some outlandish claims against Donald Trump during Wednesday, April 9, episode of the chat show.
Accusing him of intentionally collapsing the stock market, she claimed, “I’m thinking, he’s trying to destroy the country. Now, why is he doing that?” as per MEDIA ITE.
The 82-year-old comedian also mentioned House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Democratic strategist James Carville while pushing forward her allegations.

Joy Behar says Trump ‘wants to stoke instability to consolidate power for himself’
“Just as a person in the audience watching this, so there’s a couple of theories. So there’s a couple of theories. First of all, if he tanks the entire — what do you call it…the stock market, all his billionaire friends can swoop in and buy everything low,” Behar alleged.
She further noted that “that’s not an original idea. Hakeem Jeffries said that. And in fact today on Truth Social, [Trump] wrote, ‘a great time to buy.’ Hmmmm.”

The actress did not stop there as she went on to name Carville as she stated, “The other theory is from James Carville, which I think is interesting, that he wants to stoke such instability and chaos to consolidate power for himself. So the people start to really go nuts, which we’re starting to.”
Joy Behar claims Donald Trump will bring dictatorship
But Whoopi Goldberg seemed to disagree with her colleague as she said, “No, we’re not.”
Behar insisted, “Well, people are starting to get mad,” to which Goldberg replied, “Well, that’s good. You want them to get mad.”

“But how mad will people get, and how broke will people get, and how many jobs will be lost and then he can say, well, there’s too much chaos and now we’re going to have martial law and becomes a dictator. I mean, I don’t know. That may be out of the bounds,” Behar asserted.
Netizens accuse ‘The View’ of fear-mongering
Meanwhile, people have shared their thoughts over Joy Behar’s claims.
An X user tweeted, “The ladies of The View love to fear-monger.”
Another user commented, “I knew it would be less than 24 hours before they start panicking about something that will never happen. It must be exhausting to have to be panicking about something different every day.”

Once you think of it that way it's quite entertaining really. 😂
“Some would literally create the conditions for martial law just to say I told you so, then blame him, and take no responsibility,” a tweet read.
