Justin Timberlake ‘freaked out’ and ‘stayed up all night’ following DWI arrest, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Justin Timberlake allegedly freaked out in his jail cell after he was arrested for DWI on Tuesday night, June 18.
A source close to the 10-time Grammy-winning singer recently shared with a news outlet that the multifaceted star wasn’t at peace after he was arrested closely around midnight on June 18, and alleged he just had one drink.
Justin Timberlake freaks out while in custody
Though the actor was arrested at midnight and was released the following morning, a source shared, "He was freaking out and stayed up all night when he was in custody.”
The insider added, per OK! Magazine, "He's insisting he only had one drink and it wasn't some wild night out."
The ‘Friends With Benefits’ star has previously confessed that he had just one martini and nothing more during his night out with friends.
As he went out of the American Hotel and started driving his 2025 BMW XM, the officers stationed near the venue noticed that Timberlake failed to maintain the lane of his car.
Per the arrest report, the authorities quickly determined that he "was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition".
Though he took a field sobriety test, the actor refused to take a breathalyzer test.
The report added, "His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”
Another insider previously shed light on the actor’s alleged struggle with alcoholism as they said "everyone knows" that Timberlake struggles with alcohol abuse.
They said, "He’s been hiding and masking it for years," before adding, "Everyone around him have been enablers."
The insider continued, "It’s a real thing, and when you have a drinking problem, it’s apparent," before adding, "Yet they’ve pushed this tour on him, and he’s been a very dark place."
Another source added that Timberlake was feeling "remorseful" after his arrest, but he allegedly "does not believe he needs help when it comes to alcohol".
They added, "This situation has taken a toll on him, but he is trying to view it as a way that he can reset himself.”
"He does his best to set a positive example for himself, his family and the public, and will continue to try to learn and grow. He is taking this seriously and recognizes how it can impact his family dynamic as a husband and father, and his fans too,” concluded the source.
Justin Timberlake not going for rehab
Despite facing a DWI arrest, the 43-year-old star is not seeking a rehab at this moment. He is planning to carry on with his tour as it was previously planned.
A source close to Timberlake recently shared with People that he remains focused to the tour commitments, saying, "It’s business as usual for him."
"The tour is proceeding as planned," declared the source.
