NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kevin Costner's reaction to Ryan Reynolds' joke referencing the ongoing legal drama involving Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively at 'SNL's 50th Anniversary Special event went viral.

The special, held at the iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza, was meant to be a night of celebration and nostalgia but it quickly turned into a talking point after

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler asked Reynolds, "How’s it going?" and he responded with his signature wit, "Great – why, what have you heard?"

Kevin Costner's reaction to Ryan Reynolds' joke

Ryan Reynolds' quip was a clear nod to the highly publicized legal battle between his wife Blake Lively and her 'It Ends with Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

Costner, seated directly behind Reynolds and Lively, could not hide his discomfort, grimacing visibly, a moment swiftly captured and shared across social media platforms.

His grimace, however, stole the spotlight, with many speculating that it reflected Hollywood’s growing unease with the casual handling of serious allegations.

Costner arrived solo in a sleek all-black suit as the 70-year-old actor made a bold fashion statement with an open-collared shirt and contemporary glasses, embracing his single life after his 2023 split from Christine Baumgartner.

Inside Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal drama

The legal drama has been dominating headlines since late 2024, with Blake Lively accusing Justin Baldoni of harassment.

In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, alleging extortion and smear campaigns.

Both sides have vehemently denied each other’s claims, according to Daily Mail.

Lively’s appearance at the 'SNL' event marked her first red carpet outing in two months, her last being at the Beauty Inc Awards in New York City on December 11, 2024, just weeks before the scandal broke.

Her presence alongside Reynolds at the anniversary special presented a united front amidst ongoing legal turmoil, further fueling public interest in the case.
