LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has made a notable leap from reality television to acting, becoming one of Ryan Murphy's favored stars.

In what came as a surprise for many online, Kim has now been featured alongside Chloe Sevigny on Variety's 'Actors on Actors' series. The reality TV star got candid with Chloe about her transition to acting and her take on 'The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story'.

Kim Kardashian on how she got the role in 'American Horror Story: Delicate'

After her turn in 'American Horror Story: Delicate', Kim revealed that Murphy came to her with another project in mind - a reality show-based idea.

"I wasn't into it," Kim said making it clear how her initial discussion with Murphy proceeded and then her role on 'American Horror Story: Delicate' was fleshed out after he told her he wanted to write a role specifically for her, which ended up being Siobhan Corbyn, a ruthless PR professional.

Kim is a thankful woman as she mused how she felt honored to work in the 'AHS' franchise. "Sometimes it just takes that one person to really believe in you and give you that push," she said of Murphy's trust in her.

Kim has had to bear criticisms for her role, considering this was her debut, but she was also met with a large number of compliments for her role as Siobhan, an assistant to Emma Roberts' Anna Victoria Alcott in the story.

Curious viewers compared her role and were convinced she was channeling momager Kris Jenner but Kim set the record straight amid her chat with Chloe.

"It's funny, I was really channeling my sister Kourtney and someone that I work with," she clarified.

However, in hindsight, she shared she understands where the comparison came from. "And everyone, when it came out, they were like, 'That is Kris Jenner all the way.' And I was like, 'I guess I had that preparation already, but it’s not what I was thinking.' But I so see it now," she said.

Kim Kardashian exploring more legal dramas now

Kim's next project with Murphy is an unnamed legal drama. As she prepares for this role, she draws inspiration from Laura Wasser, a prominent divorce attorney in Los Angeles known for representing high-profile clients, including Kim herself.

"I will be channeling Laura Wasser, if that resonates with anybody," she said.

Wasser is renowned for representing high-profile clients such as Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Kelly Clarkson and even her mom Kris.

Dabbling with courtroom drama hits quite close to Kim considering she prepared for the baby bar but failed to get through thrice and made it only on her fourth attempt.

Nonetheless, she used her celebrity star power and legal knowledge to become a champion of criminal justice reform. She became a vocal activist for criminal justice reform via meetings with policymakers, a podcast and a documentary — mostly spotlighting individual cases.

An example of this would be former President Donald Trump commuting the sentence of Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old woman serving a life sentence without parole for a nonviolent drug offense, in 2018, following his meeting with Kim on the case.

While Kim remained tight-lipped about the specifics of her untitled legal drama, she revealed to Chloe that she has four projects in different stages of development.

In addition to her growing acting career, Kim is also venturing into production, although she’s keeping the details under wraps for now.

Chloe, who is set to appear in the upcoming 'American Crime Story' about the Menendez brothers, also shared with Kim about the challenges of portraying real people. She will play the brothers' mother, Kitty Menendez, and has taken a looser approach due to the lack of material on the real person.

This led to a discussion about the first series of 'American Crime Story', which explored the OJ Simpson murder trial and featured Kim's late father, Robert Kardashian Sr. Chloe asked Kim for her perspective on it, given that she was indirectly involved, as it is a significant part of her childhood and life story.

"I loved it," Kim responded, revealing that she watched the series years ago and again recently to show it to some friends. "I thought it was just done so well."

"I remember asking Ryan, who were your sources? Because that was my dad's exact bracelet. That was our home!" Kim shared. "They actually rented the home that we grew up in at that period of time. Little things were wrong, but minimal."

"it was just fascinating to watch and see it from a different perspective, especially now, since I'm in law school. Seeing it from a legal point of view is just fascinating," Kim said.

Kim Kardashian praised for 'authencity' amid trolling of her acting

The Internet has been divided on Kim's ability to act and even about the fact that Variety is calling her an actress. Comments on social media revealed a divided set of reactions.

One social media user felt that "Kim demonstrated that acting comes natural to her. She is definitely becoming a great actress. She transforms herself into the roles she has been in. You can't teach authenticity."

A second reader commented on Facebook, begrudgingly complimenting Kim, "Wow! This was such a fun conversation between two very self aware women. I’m not the biggest Kim Kardashian fan, but her honesty in this conversation was refreshing."

One reader commented saying, "KK is an entertainer for sure, which is a totally different concept than "actor", which is what CS is."

The brickbats were also quick to follow as one troll shared: "She is the reason I didn't bother watching the new season".

Another social media user commented in all caps how they don't consider Kim to be an actress, "KIM KARDASHIAN IS NOT AN ACTRESS!!"

In another jibe at Kim, one troll slammed Variety, "So you interviewed one actual actor."
