WASHINGTON, DC: Laura Loomer is taking a victory lap for being one of the few voices willing to stand by President Donald Trump after his remarks regarding the late Hollywood director Rob Reiner.

While Trump’s remarks sparked backlash following the deaths of Reiner and his wife, Loomer, on Thursday, December 18, bragged that being among the only voices willing to stand up for him proved her loyalty.

Laura Loomer touts loyalty after defending Trump

During a broadcast of MS Now’s 'Morning Joe,' host Jonathan Lemire noted the scarcity of people willing to back Trump’s post, stating, “the only defenders I’ve found of this is the really hardcore, Laura Loomer defended it, and a few people like that.”

Rather than taking the comment as a critique, Loomer turned it into a celebratory moment on social media.

She responded on X by claiming the media was merely showcasing her loyalty, writing, “@MSNOWNews reiterates how loyal I am as they try to dunk on me. ‘The only defenders of this I saw… Laura Loomer defended it!’ Donald Trump Did Nothing Wrong!”

Trump blames Rob Reiner’s death on ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’

The controversy stems from a post Trump shared shortly after the public learned of the director’s death.

While politicians on both sides of the aisle expressed shock at the timing of the message, Trump leaned into his long-standing grievance with the filmmaker.

He wrote, “Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

Reiner family seeks privacy amid memorial service plans

The tragic event behind this political clash was the discovery of Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, who were found stabbed to death this past Sunday in their Brentwood home.

Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested that evening in Exposition Park and has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, with a special circumstance of multiple murders.

Close friends, including Billy Crystal and Larry David, have visited the home to pay their respects.

While official public funeral arrangements have not yet been announced, the family of the deceased couple has indicated that the memorial service will be "deeply private" and "carefully guarded" to allow them to mourn without interruptions.
