LeBron James and Coco Gauff sport plastic ponchos amid rain at Paris Olympics opening ceremony
PARIS, FRANCE: LeBron James and Coco Gauff are getting ready to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics, and not even a little rain can stop them!
The tennis champion and three-time Olympian was seen traveling on Friday, July 26, to the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. There, they will participate in the Parade of Nations as flagbearers.
LeBron James and Coco Gauff came prepared for the event
Coco Gauff, 20, and LeBron James, 39, arrived ready to defend their specially made Ralph Lauren red, white, and blue blazers, even though Paris has been experiencing rainy weather all day as many celebrity attendees get ready for the opening ceremony.
Both Team USA and the US Tennis Association posted a video to their Instagram accounts where they were seen wearing clear plastic ponchos over their uniforms. Gauff covered her head with a book to shield her hair and makeup.

The selection of LeBron James and Coco Gauff as flagbearers earlier this summer made history for both of them.
While James is the first male basketball player to hold the position, Gauff is the first American tennis player to represent Team USA as a flagbearer, reported People.
The Parade of Nations will also look different this year
This year, the Parade of Nations will also appear slightly different than usual.
The event will take place on the Seine River, and thousands of athletes from all over the world are scheduled to make their boat debuts while the teams from each nation sail down the Paris River, starting, as is customary, with Greece.
Numerous celebrities have arrived in Paris for 2024 Olympics

On Friday, images of Lady Gaga, 38, practicing with dancers and braving the rain on the Seine shores emerged.
Also on Friday, tons of other stars stopped by the City of Light to make appearances on the red carpet by the Eiffel Tower, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who brought some looks inspired by their roles in Wicked.
