NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a shocking revelation, Sean 'Diddy' Combs' highly touted charter school initiative, Capital Preparatory in Harlem, has been exposed as a failed experiment plagued by rampant violence, administrative turmoil, and a severe lack of quality education.

A scathing report by The Cut, based on accounts from 14 sources closely involved with the school, has laid bare the dysfunctional reality behind Combs' $1 million investment and the lofty promises of providing underserved communities with access to excellent learning opportunities.

Turmoil at Capital Preparatory reached fever pitch during Covid-19 pandemic

The turmoil at Capital Prep reached a fever pitch during the Covid-19 pandemic. As classes went virtual in 2020, teachers began failing to show up, with 80% eventually resigning by year's end, according to the report.

When students eventually returned to the classroom, many found themselves enrolled in courses they had already completed or spending hours in the cafeteria with no instruction whatsoever. Transcripts were in disarray, leaving upperclassmen unable to transfer credits or enroll in college.

Capital Preparatory also plagued by rampant violence

Beyond academic shortcomings, Capital Prep was also plagued by rampant violence within its walls. Fights became increasingly common as the school expanded its enrollment and relocated to a new building on 129th Street and Madison Avenue – an area described as more violent than the previous campus.

In a desperate attempt to maintain order, school administrators resorted to locking out tardy students, prompting outraged protests from families. Shockingly, police were even called to intervene in incidents as minor as uniform violations.

Despite Combs' initial $1 million pledge to support the school's expansion into the Bronx, the rap icon's involvement dwindled over time, as per the report. Sources claim he was largely absent beyond photo ops, the grand opening in 2016, and guest appearances.

In November 2023, amid continuing significant legal challenges against Combs, Capital Prep formally severed connections with the beleaguered mogul.

Internet ridicules Diddy over Capital Preparatory plight

The Internet wasted no time in ridiculing Diddy upon hearing the news about Capital Preparatory. One Instagram user commented, "Diddy is a college drop out. why would parents think he knew about providing a quality education."

Another echoed the sentiment, stating, "Let’s leave the teaching to the professionals. Just because you’re successful in one realm doesn’t mean you’ll be successful where you have no expertise…"

Another critic chimed in, suggesting, "Perhaps millionaire capitalists are not the ideal school administrators."

Meanwhile, another user cynically remarked, "Oh wow, the guy who’s left every former artist and employee broke and forgotten did the same to his school? What a shock."

One observer expressed disbelief, writing, "I’m not sure what else one would expect after putting their child in the school of puff daddy."

While another user simply stated, "Y’all are wild for trusting Diddy with your children’s education though."
