Earlier this month, Liam Payne and Maya Henry made headlines after Henry's lawyers issued a cease-and-desist letter to the singer, according to the Daily Mail.

The statement read, "Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information."

This development follows a bitter dispute between the two, who had an on-and-off three-year relationship between 2019 and 2022 after becoming engaged in 2019.

Shortly after their breakup, Payne began a new relationship with Kate Cassidy, while Henry focused on promoting her first novel, 'Looking Forward,' which tells the story of a young woman who falls for a pop star.

Henry described the fiction as being "definitely inspired by true events. [The main character] Mallory is very similar to me, and that’s why it was very easy for me to write her character and put the emotion in there. I’m just grateful that I have this opportunity and platform to really help be a voice for women."
