WASHINGTON, DC: The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit refused to toss out Hunter Biden's indictment on federal gun charges in a court document released Thursday, May 9. The president's son will now stand on trial next month in Delaware.

"The defendant in this criminal case appealed three pretrial orders entered on April 12, 2024, denying his motions to dismiss the indictment," the court document released Thursday stated, according to Fox News. "This appeal is DISMISSED because the defendant has not shown the District Court’s orders are appealable before final judgment."

Inside Hunter Biden's indictment

Hunter Biden was indicted in September on charges that he had a firearm while he was using drugs. The counts include allegations that he owned a gun while on narcotics and submitted a form falsely stating he wasn't using illegal drugs when he purchased the revolver in 2018. He has since pleaded guilty to all counts.

This new development comes the same month that the federal tax case against Hunter Biden is set to go on trial in California. He pleaded not guilty to those charges in January.

Special counsel David Weiss, who was appointed by Trump as US Attorney for Delaware before being elevated into his current role by Attorney General Merrick Garland, brought the gun and tax cases against the 54-year-old.

One X user tweeted, "Good put the Biden crime family in jail," while another wrote, "That does it!!!! He’s not getting my vote!"

"Interesting most people get a slap on the wrist and no jail time a Little fine I wonder if he’ll get the same," said one, and another added, "Lock him up!"

"Hunter would just be a homeless drug addict if his father wasn't President," opined an X user, and one penned, "He should be treated like most Americans, no privileged ones. Addict or not, he was guilty. How many addicts have been punished for the same crime?"
