WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday, December 8, said that she is "America First" after President Donald Trump took a jab at her for her appearance on '60 Minutes'.

Greene said during the '60 Minutes' interview that Republicans are "terrified" of not going along with the POTUS and becoming the subject of an angry Truth Social post.

During a Sunday, December 7, interview, host Lesley Stahl asked Greene, "Are you MAGA?" and the Congresswoman replied, "I am America first."

Following this, Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Monday and took a jab at Greene. He wrote, "The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!)." "Too much work, not enough time, and her ideas are, NOW, really BAD - She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple! Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person," Trump mentioned in this post.

Meanwhile, Greene responded to Trump’s remarks and wrote in an X post, "I AM AMERICA FIRST. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Moreover, her post included a graphic indicating she received $0 from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Another graphic showed that, for Trump, there had been millions in "independent expenditures & campaign contributions received from pro-Israel interest groups."

MTG slams Trump during '60 Minutes' interview

During the interview on Sunday, Marjorie Taylor Greene tore into Donald Trump over his response to death threats against her and her son.

She criticized the POTUS for failing to stick to his own "America First" gospel and instead chasing foreign policy points while people back home were struggling financially.

Talking to Lesley Stahl, Greene said, "For an ‘America First’ president, the No 1 focus should have been domestic policy, and it wasn’t. And so, of course, I was critical, because those were my campaign promises." "Once we fix everything here, then fine, we’ll talk to the rest of the world," she added.

According to NBC News, Republicans across Capitol Hill have been grumbling for weeks that President Trump isn’t addressing the cost-of-living crisis across the country.

However, Trump has been touting lower gas prices and recently signed an executive order aimed at targeting anti-competitive behavior in food supply chains.

The White House issued a statement on Sunday, as spokeswoman Abigail Jackson listed Trump’s achievements.

Jackson said, "In a short time, President Trump has already delivered on many of the promises he was elected to enact. He’s secured the border; tackled Biden’s inflation crisis; lowered drug prices; ended taxes on tips, overtime, and social security; cooled inflation; deported criminal illegal aliens; implemented important reforms putting American workers first; and more."

"As the architect of the MAGA movement, President Trump will always put America First. Every single day, he’s working hard to continue fulfilling the many promises he made, and he will continue delivering," the White House spokeswoman added.
