MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) claims that divine intervention prevented former President Donald Trump from being assassinated during his Keystone State campaign rally on Saturday, July 13, according to NJ.com.

During her interview with the far-right Breitbart News Network, the MAGA-aligned congresswoman recounted seeing “what looked like an angel” appear above the 78-year-old ex-POTUS just moments before the attempted shooting.

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene recall of moments leading up to assassination attempt on Donald Trump?

The Breitbart News interviewer posed to the firebrand Republican lawmaker regarding Donald Trump surviving the attempt on his life last weekend, by saying, “It seems like God's hand is on his shoulder.”

“I believe it. I believe we all witnessed a miracle, literally,” Greene remarked. “From, you know, before it happened, the flag above got blown in the wind and it got tied into literally what looked like an angel. Did you see that video?”

“I didn't see it,” the interviewer replied.

“Oh my gosh, you guys have to find that. It was truly, it was like an angel coming down. It was the American flag tied. They had to bring it down and all the people in the stands helped unravel it. And it was literally before he came out on the stage,” she claimed.

A former firefighter was killed in the shooting incident, and two other rally attendees were wounded.

A source familiar with the situation told CNN that the 20-year-old gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, posted on the gaming platform Steam that "July 13 will be my premiere" and that users should "watch as it unfolds," without elaborating any further.

Despite the FBI's extensive efforts, which included accessing Crooks' cellphone, searching his computer, home, and car, as well as conducting over a hundred interviews, the motive behind his attack on Trump's rally, which resulted in a minor injury on the right ear of the MAGA figurehead, remained a mystery.

There has been no public disclosure that the shooter left behind any writings, a suicide note, a social media post, or any other explanation for targeting the 2024 Republican presidential candidate.

The public remains largely uninformed, and news organizations have highlighted that "Trump's campaign has refused to discuss his condition, release a medical report or records, or make the doctors who treated him available, leaving information to dribble out from Trump, his friends and family,” as per a PBS News report.

Officials reported that former fire chief Corey Comperatore died after he shielded his family by jumping in front of them as gunfire erupted.

Additionally, at least two other people were injured, namely, David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, as per the Pennsylvania State Police. Both victims were reported to be in stable condition as of Sunday, July 14.

Internet rips Marjorie Taylor Greene for claiming to see 'an angel' appear to save Donald Trump

People online lambasted the 50-year-old Georgia Republican lawmaker for describing what she believed had saved former President Donald Trump from the assassination attempt last weekend.

One X user remarked, "She is such a liar. I cannot believe MAGA falls for the lies."

Another user quipped, "These are the people who make our laws."

Another user wrote, "MTG is delusional."

One X user claimed, "They used to have insane asylums for people like MTG."

Another user said, "No wonder there are so many atheists. Sigh."

Another user asked, "Did she ask the angel why it didn’t minister to Mr Comperatore and save him? Does this God she talks about only care about the people she cares about?"

Finally, this user tweeted, "Why don't angels come down from heaven to protect children in mass shootings? I guess her God only protects criminals now?"
