LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Miley Cyrus became the fodder of months-old conspiracy theory as she mentioned Beyonce’s name prior to announcing the Record of the Year winner at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

But before making the grand announcement on Sunday, February 2, the 32-year-old made a short mention of the ‘Halo’ singer - who not only won the Best Country Album but also her maiden Album of the Year award for ‘Cowboy Carter’ - which renewed a conspiracy theory involving her and disgraced music producer Sean "Diddy" Combs

Taking the stage, the ‘Flowers’ singer gave a shout-out to Beyonce, saying, "And The GRAMMY goes to... Even if it's not you Beyonce, I might just say it is," before announcing the name of the winner, Kendrick Lamar.

However, soon her words garnered traction online, with several users claiming "she knows."

Though the allegations are unfounded, the social media users seemingly refer to the viral conspiracy theory that artists in the music industry have historically thanked Beyonce to avoid being seen as a threat to her, as previously reported by E! News.

Previously in October 2024, JoJo Siwa too played into the viral theory, when she gave a shoutout to the 'Crazy in Love' singer while accepting an award at the 2024 Industry Dance Awards.

The ‘Karma’ singer said, "I also have to say thank you to Beyonce just so that we can keep the dancing community safe," before adding, "Beyonce, you’ve got great music. We all love to dance to it. We all love you."

As the crowd gave a surprised reaction, the 21-year-old star said, "Someone had to—and I will be the someone."

The outlet further revealed that though the allegations of her supposed power in the music industry or her connection to Diddy remain unproven, with Beyonce not mentioning anything about the same, a section of the social media users kept on thanking the ‘Single Ladies’ singer for random acts online, to avoid the possibility of "retaliation" from her or the Bad Boy Records founder.

Miley Cyrus' shout-out to Beyonce sparks speculation about conspiracy theory

Soon after Miley Cyrus' shout-out to Beyonce during her presentation of the Record of the Year at the Grammys went viral, netizens started hypothesizing the connection with the conspiracy theory, declaring "she knows."

One pointed out, "Everyone saying their thank you’s to beyonce tonight," and another wrote, "She just wanted to survive."

"She’s trying to save herself," a person remarked, with someone else adding, "She knows 🤣."

"OH SHE KNOWS," boldly claimed an individual.

One more noted sheepishly, "Bro was just trying to survive 💀."
