WASHINGTON, DC: GOP firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene, who just so happens to be worth millions, reportedly asked strangers on the internet to buy her adult son a beer over the weekend.

The now-deleted post on the representative's personal X (formerly Twitter) account read, "It’s my baby boy’s birthday!! He’s 22!! I love him so much! Buy him a beer!"

It even came with a handy little link to her son Derek’s Venmo (which was set to private, so no one really knows how much he raked in).

The post was only up for a few minutes, but that was more than enough time for online sleuths to grab screenshots before the whole thing mysteriously vanished, the New York Post reported.

Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed for asking followers to Venmo her son beer money

Marjorie Taylor Greene isn’t exactly strapped for cash. According to Quiver Quantitative, her net worth is around $22 million. So, there was a major backlash when the public saw her essentially panhandling for her grown son’s beer fund.

"Marjorie Taylor Greene, a sitting member of Congress who is worth many millions of dollars, posted a birthday message for her son—along with a link to his Venmo account, encouraging her supporters to send him money. This comes at a time of significant economic uncertainty in the United States," one posted on X.

"OMFG!? Seriously?! Piss off! He can buy his own heckin’ beer! MTG is an extraordinary grifter! The amount of cheek is insane!" another fumed.

"Greene deleted it, presumably after someone with a mental capacity higher than a Cro-Magnon told her how awful it looked. But screenshots live forever," someone else added.

"The grifting never ends. If I were her kid, I’d be f’n embarrassed, but if he’s like her, this hillbilly moron money-grab will be a totally shameless act," a comment read.

"@mtgreenee Does any other poor or middle-class family set up a VENMO account to buy their kid a beer for their 22nd birthday? Pay for it yourself, MTG! After your insider stock shenanigans before tariffs announced, I think you can afford it! Disgusting!!!" another chimed in.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's market moves and suspicious timing

Turns out Marjorie Taylor Greene has been quite busy on the investment front. According to the Daily Mail, she made 15 trades between March 16 and March 24, just before President Donald Trump’s big tariffs announcement rocked the markets. Critics aren’t so sure if that's a mere coincidence.

Her three biggest moves involved pouring hundreds of thousands into US Treasury Bills - short-term debt obligations that are a safe, low-risk investment that people usually flock to right before things go south.

On March 16, March 19, and March 24, she reportedly dropped between $100,000 and $250,000 per transaction on those T-Bills. That adds up to $300,000 to $750,000 in Treasury investments alone. On the side, she also made smaller trades (around $1,000-$5,000) in stocks like Apple, AbbVie, and Costco.

The 50-year-old congresswoman didn't stop waving the Trump flag high while making these strategic investments. On "Liberation Day," she praised the president's tariffs during an interview with podcaster Alec Lace.

"I think President Trump is extremely generous. Reciprocity is fair," Greene said. "The tariffs that he's charging on most of these countries are half of what they're charging us. President Trump is doing the right thing for the American people, and I don't think any other country can complain," she insisted.
