New ad taunts Donald Trump to 'take the stand' or admit cowardice, Internet says he 'won't debate either'
WASHINGTON, DC: In a recent development, the center-left Third Way group has launched a new ad campaign targeting former President Donald Trump.
The advertisement, which humorously highlights Trump’s legal challenges, is aimed at coaxing him into testifying at his hush money trial.
Donald Trump’s legal challenges and the new ad
The Third Way group is reportedly investing a five-figure sum on digital ads that will be broadcast in New York City, South Florida, and Dallas.
The timing of the ad campaign coincides with Trump’s scheduled speech at a National Rifle Association meeting this weekend. The ad brings to light Trump’s previous remarks on the Fifth Amendment, as reported by the New York Times.
“Take the stand, Donald, or admit you’re a coward,” referencing Trump’s past assertion that “if you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” The ad provocatively challenges Trump.

“He has talked tough for years about how only guilty people and mobsters take the Fifth," Matt Bennett, a co-founder of Third Way said.
"Now it appears he’s going to do that himself, and we wanted to remind him of that and see if we could taunt him into testifying, frankly, because it might not go well for him if he did that," reported Raw Story.
Donald Trump taking a stand in hush money trial remains uncertain
Trump’s legal team has informed Judge Juan Merchan presiding over his hush-money case in Manhattan that he is yet to decide whether he will testify in his trial.
The trial involves 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
These payments were allegedly made to prevent Daniels from discussing their past sexual relationship ahead of the 2016 election.
Internet says Donald Trump's not taking a stand shows he's guilty
The ad has sparked a flurry of reactions on the internet. One user wrote, “I agree that Trump is a coward, but there’s no shame in not testifying. The burden of proof is always on the prosecution. That’s the way our judicial system is structured, and it’s how Judge Merchan will instruct the jury.”

Several users expressed their belief that Trump would not testify as another user opined, “Not taking the stand is admitting guilt."
On more asserted, “ABSOLUTELY…he’s allowed to defend himself…it’s called testifying under oath on the witness stand!”
“I will save you the trouble, Trump is a coward and will not testify. Trump is a coward and won’t debate either,” read one commented.
One individual said, “He doesn’t have to admit he’s a coward we already know he is,” and another echoed, "He can’t take the stand, he’ll be guilty of perjury. In 5 minutes or less."
One user humorously wrote, “It will sooner happen that hell freezes over than that the Donald takes a stand!” while another urged, “Come on Donald Trump, Go on the stand ???”
