WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump fired back at Sen Jon Ossoff Monday, August 17, calling the Georgia Democrat a “Pee-wee Herman lookalike” over his criticism of Trump’s ballroom plans.

Trump said the project is part of an effort to fix the White House and includes a military facility and drone port.

The exchange followed Ossoff’s Sunday rally, where he criticized Trump over the ballroom and his priorities.

Trump defends ballroom and drone port

Asked at the White House to respond to Ossoff, Trump first dismissed the senator personally before defending the construction plans.

“You mean Pee-wee Herman? Pee-wee Herman lookalike,” Trump said. “No, I would much rather do other things. We’re building a great facility here.”

Trump said the White House had not been properly maintained, describing the Oval Office as a “disgraceful situation” and saying the building’s exteriors and columns were falling apart.

He also said officials had sought a ballroom for “the last 150 years.”

Trump then tied the ballroom project to a proposed military facility.

He said the military approached him after he announced plans for a ballroom and described an opportunity to build “a military facility to go in the White House, to go in all Washington, DC.”

He added that officials proposed placing a drone port on top, calling it “a major drone port to protect the White House and all of DC.”

White House aides escalate response

Ossoff’s comments also drew personal attacks from White House officials, including Communications Director Steven Cheung and spokesperson Davis R Ingle.

“Jon Jackoff has to be the biggest c**k loser in politics,” Cheung wrote on X.

He accused Ossoff of denigrating people serving their country and called him a “radical, extremist Dumocrat.”

Ingle also attacked Ossoff personally, writing, “Jon Ossoff is a cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama. Nobody gives a s**t what this lightweight loser says.”

The White House responses came after Ossoff used a Sunday rally to criticize Trump over the length of deployments faced by sailors serving aboard US aircraft carriers this year.

Jon Ossoff's rally targeted Trump's priorities

Ossoff said the president was choosing other pursuits over his duties while criticizing the strain on sailors.

“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” Ossoff said.

He added, “He golfs and trades stocks.”

The senator then said Trump “doesn’t want to do the job” and instead wanted to “build his ballroom and travel with Natalie to their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”
