LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Marvel Cinematic Universe fans exploded with excitement on Sunday, February 11, as they were treated to the ultimate teaser trailer face-off.

During Super Bowl LVIII, Marvel Studios unveiled the first adrenaline-charged look at 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' uniting Ryan Reynolds’ motor-mouthed mercenary Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s quick-tempered mutant Wolverine.

The epic teaser unleashed a fierce display of katanas, claws, bullets and banter that whipped fans into a frenzy. Landing millions of views in the span of a few hours, the explosive first look whet appetites for the R-rated action flick hitting theaters this summer that pairs two of Marvel’s most iconic frenemies, per PEOPLE.

'Deadpool & Wolverine' marks first Deadpool film produced within Marvel cinematic universe

"Welcome to the mercury in retrograde of Marvel Phases. #DeadpoolWolverine," Reynolds wrote on Instagram alongside the adrenaline-filled trailer.

The 47-year-old Reynolds marked the end of filming for the R-rated sequel in a January 24 Instagram post, thanking the cast and crew for battling harsh conditions to bring this reunion to life under the direction of Shawn Levy.

"I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn’t happen very often," Reynolds expressed about uniting with Jackman and Levy.

This marks the first Deadpool film produced within the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. It will directly follow the events of 2017's gritty, dramatic 'Logan', clarifying that this will not undo Wolverine's goodbye.

Alongside Reynolds and Jackman, 55, Jennifer Garner is confirmed to reprise her role as the skilled assassin Elektra from 2003’s 'Daredevil'.

'Deadpool & Wolverine' teases an all-out brawl between Wade Wilson and Logan

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the trailer shows Wade Wilson suited up as Deadpool wielding katanas and guns while Logan flaunts his iconic adamantium claws in the yellow-and-blue Wolverine costume. It teases an all-out brawl between the smart-mouthed, regenerating antihero Deadpool and the quick-tempered, sharp-clawed Wolverine.

Rumors have swirled that Taylor Swift may also appear in 'Deadpool & Wolverine' after being spotted with Reynolds, Jackman and Levy, although her role remains unconfirmed.

"Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26," Reynolds told the Vancouver Sun in November of last year about the intense speculation surrounding the plot. The only certainty is that fans are in for a dramatic, humor-filled thrill ride when these iconic frenemies team up on July 26, 2024.
