Reason behind Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift not sharing same room before Chiefs' games revealed
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: There are reportedly many strict rules and policies that a Kansas City Chiefs player has to follow as they play for the team.
It even applies to the NFL star and Taylor Swift’s beau Travis Kelce who is not allowed to spend the night with the pop sensation before a Kansas City Chiefs game, as reported by Daily Mail.
Also, all the team players have to follow a strict 11 pm curfew the night before the game. But they need to be in their rooms by that time only with their teammates.
According to the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, "Any material curfew violation the night prior to the Club’s game may be considered conduct detrimental to the Club upon player’s first offense."
Also, Chariah Gordon, whose fiance is Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr, confirmed it as she told People, "Yeah, they have a curfew. Each game, they have to be in by 11."
Kansas City Chiefs players cannot drink alcohol before the game
Besides, NFL WAGs are not even allowed to travel home with their partners as players must fly on the team flight.
Jayla Thornton-Cook, wife to Chiefs safety Bryan Cook, reportedly said, "You're more than welcome to go to a game and you can see them after, and then they're getting right back on the flight and they're coming right back home that night."
Though WAGs like to and enjoy cheering for their partners during the games, they did not get much time to spend with them because of another team’s policy.
The athletes are reportedly treated as business professionals who are out of town due to work like anyone else.
Not only this, WAGs only get to enjoy the alcohol during the trips, their partners do not, and if any player were found to break any of these rules, they can face fines or other punishments at the team's discretion.
Gordon shared, "The ship is tight over here. But the girls, we get together. We're like, 'Hey, do you want to do dinner? Are we going to go out? What do you want to do?' So, we do the partying for them."
Even getting late to team meetings is not encouraged and can lead to punishments for the players.
Chiefs president calls Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance ‘authentic’
This came as an NFL insider and expert close to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift has refuted the allegations that their high-profile romance is just a marketing trick.
Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan said, as per Heavy, “I’d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship. We’re happy to have it, and it’s been nothing but good for us.”
Donovan even went on to call the Grammy winner singer “an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom,” as he further stated, “She’s an authentic fan and that matters to our fans and our fan base and to matters to us and we try to respect that.”
Earlier also while giving an interview to Front Office Sports, Donovan had spoken fondly about Swift.
“We’ll be prepared for her, and obviously welcome her with open arms,” he stated.
He added, “She wants to be a fan. This is her off time. She wants to be there to support Travis. We’re going to create that opportunity where we provide that.”
Donovan also mentioned at the time that the team is not “trying to capitalize” on Kelce and the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer’s romance.
“We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown or anything like that,” he noted.
