WASHINGTON, DC: Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley needled former President Donald Trump for apparently mixing up the deadline of the Indiana GOP primary, reported The Hill.

Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Friday, February 2, criticizing the former South Carolina Governor's ballot qualification.

"Nikki Haley still scrambling in Indiana with democrat county clerk offices to 'verify' signatures and qualify for the ballot three days after the deadline. Not a good look!" the Republican frontrunner wrote.

In response to the criticism, Haley wrote on X, "Looks like he's confused again..." along with a sideways glancing emoji.

According to an X post by Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales, the deadline to file for the state's primary election is noon on February 9. The Indiana Republican presidential primary is scheduled to be held on May 7.

Not the first time Nikki Haley has claimed Trump is 'confused'

The ongoing GOP presidential primary is a two-person showdown between Trump and Haley, and it has led to both candidates throwing scathing remarks against each other.

The former UN Ambassador, who is against the former president, and the incumbent Joe Biden running for a second term due to their age, has previously questioned Trump's cognitive ability.

Before the New Hampshire primary, which she lost to her opponent, Haley took a jab at his mental fitness, saying, "We've seen him get confused."

The White House hopeful was referring to the blunder Trump made by mixing up her name with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi while speaking about the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. The ex-President, in a rally in New Hampshire in early January, claimed Haley was in charge of security when the riot broke out.

Moreover, Haley has stepped up her attacks against her sole GOP opponent, who has already established his position as the clear frontrunner.

Her recent X post trolled Trump, branding him the "Weakest General Election Candidate Ever", in a photoshop Halloween costume. In addition, her campaign ad titled 'Grumpy Old Men' focuses on both Biden's and his predecessor's mental fitness.

Internet reacts to Haley calling Trump 'confused'

Haley's constant attacks on Trump's cognitive ability irked social media users who deemed the latest swipe as a "desparate" move.

One user wrote, "You guys are sounding desperate."

Another user opined, "Nikki thinks she has a chance... now who is confused again?"

"Haley whines about Trump as he prepares to beat her in her own state," a third remark read.

One user said, "Haleys not in for the win anymore, shes just focusing on obstruction to Trump now."

Another response read, "I'm tired of your same old rhetoric Nikki!"

"Disappear already you have absolutely no chance of becoming President," another user added.
