Shakira's album reflects on her past relationship with Gerard Pique
'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' has been widely speculated to reflect Shakira's past relationship with former professional soccer player Gerard Pique, 38, with whom she shares Milan and Sasha.
The couple split in June 2022 after 11 years together but were never married.
One of the album's tracks, 'Monotonia' featuring Ozuna, seemingly alludes to their breakup.
"You're distant with your attitude, and that filled me with restlessness / You didn't give even half, but I do know that I gave more than you," Shakira sang in lyrics translated from Spanish.
"I was running for someone who wasn't even walking for me / This love has not died, but it is delirious," she added in the song.
Shakira talked about separation from Gerard Pique
In a pre-recorded video before her performance later in the evening, Shakira reflected career struggles she went through in order to get her music played on American radio.

"It makes me happy to have been a part of that process," she said.
She then talked about separation from Pique, "Seven years have passed since my last album. When I wrote this album, I was going through my separation, but that wasn't the only loss I was experiencing," Shakira.
She said she went through everything but music helped her put herself back together.
"Music played a super important role to transform all the pain, the anger, into something precious. It was a way of almost seeing my tears become diamonds," she said.
