Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis make first public appearance in 6 months
Kate Middleton's three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, attended their mother's poignant carol service to show their support. They were accompanied by their father Prince William to London's Westminster Abbey for Kate's fourth yearly carol service.
The three siblings are making their first public appearance together since Trooping the Colour in June. The occasion coincided with a trying year for the family as Kate battled cancer.
Kate stated that she and William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," when she made her cancer diagnosis public earlier in 2024.
Sophie Mirman, the founder and creative director of Trotters, the company that created Charlotte's burgundy coat, told PEOPLE, "It's been such a difficult year for them, it's wonderful to see them all together."
During the event, Kate opened up to British pop star Paloma Faith about her difficult year, saying, "I didn’t know this year was going to be the year that I’ve just had...the unplanned."
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis appeared more mature than ever at the joyous occasion, which was their second significant royal appearance of the year.
George and Louis wore red ties that matched Kate's coat with a bow, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. William's tie and Charlotte's burgundy colored coat were a royal rerun from 2023.
The last public appearance of the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales was at Trooping the Colour in June, which commemorated the official birthday of their grandfather, King Charles.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte had special, one-on-one outings with their parents on July 14, a month later. George went to the UEFA European Championship with his father William, while Charlotte attended Wimbledon with his mother Kate.
