Taylor Swift's secret advice to Blake Lively amid explosive allegations against Justin Baldoni revealed
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift is standing firmly by her close friend Blake Lively as the actress navigates the aftermath of her allegations against 'It Ends With Us' co-star Justin Baldoni.
Sources close to the pop star revealed that she is deeply shaken by the revelations and has been actively supporting Lively through this troubling time.
Taylor Swift 'encourages' Blake Lively to 'get to the bottom' of lawsuit against Justin Baldoni
“Taylor is startled by the revelations surrounding the Blake Lively takedown, and she is encouraging Blake to get to the bottom of it,” an insider shared.
The source also added that Swift "supports Blake and feels horrible that she had to go through all of this."
Lively, 37, made global headlines when she filed an 80-page lawsuit accusing Baldoni, 40, of harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her during the production and promotion of the movie.
The film, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, 'It Ends With Us', tells the story of Lily Bloom (played by Lively), a woman grappling with domestic abuse inflicted by her husband, Ryle Kincaid (played by Baldoni).
Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni of harassment on sets in explosive lawsuit
The lawsuit details a series of disturbing allegations, including claims that Baldoni showed Lively explicit photos and videos of other women, made inappropriate comments about her appearance and weight, and brought up intrusive personal questions, such as whether she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, experienced simultaneous climaxes.
Lively also alleged that Baldoni “improvised physical intimacy” during a scene, which included “discreetly biting and sucking on her lower lip” without prior discussion, reshooting the scene multiple times despite her discomfort.
Adding to the unsettling claims, Lively said Baldoni “cried” over her appearance early in production and made demeaning comments about her late father.
In a statement, the actress expressed her hopes that her legal action would “pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and help protect others who may be targeted.”
The lawsuit also revealed that Lively had made 30 demands of Baldoni and others on set to address her concerns.
"The effects on Ms. Lively’s professional life were immediate and substantial," says the suit, as reported by Just Jared.
"Given the ongoing nature of the campaign and the associated negative public sentiment, Ms. Lively did not believe she could proceed with public appearances or events without being forced to openly discuss what happened on set," the filing states.
It also added, "For example, Ms. Lively canceled a critical Target corporate event for her hair care company, and she backed out of her scheduled role to host the premiere episode of the 50th anniversary season of Saturday Night Live in September 2024."
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's decade-long bond
Swift’s bond with Lively spans nearly a decade, with the two regularly supporting each other both professionally and personally.
Swift, who is godmother to Lively and Reynolds’ children, even included their names — James, Inez, and Betty — in her 2020 song “Betty” from her 'Folklore' album.
While accepting the Album of the Year award in 2021, Swift gave a heartfelt nod to Lively’s kids during her speech, saying, “I want to thank James, Inez, and Betty and their parents, who are the second and third people that I play every new song that I write.”
The pair’s creative collaborations have also been a testament to their deep connection. In 2022, Lively directed Swift’s music video for 'I Bet You Think About Me'.
Over the years, they’ve shared countless fun girls’ nights, supported each other at career milestones, and even cheered on Swift’s partner, Travis Kelce, at Kansas City Chiefs games.
