CHEYENNE, WYOMING: Former Rep Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) urged Donald Trump to study the Bible's teachings on adultery, in a scathing criticism of the former POTUS for initiating a Bible-selling campaign on Tuesday, March 26.

Cheney attached a screenshot of Trump's Bible pitch in her tweet which read, “Happy Holy Week, Donald. Instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one. And read it, including Exodus 20:14.”

In her response, Cheney referred to the verse in the Bible which commands, “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

What prompted Donald Trump to start selling Bibles?

In his most recent endeavor to accumulate funds to compensate his legal expenses, former President Donald Trump has launched his ‘God Bless USA’ Bibles.

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman has collaborated with country musician Lee Greenwood to sell these Bibles ahead of Good Friday and Easter Sunday, according to The Hill.

In a promotional video posted on his Truth Social account on Tuesday, Trump stressed the importance of every American household having a copy of the Bible.

“It’s my favorite book,” Trump remarked. “I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.”

“Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country. And I truly believe that we need to bring them back and have to bring them back fast,” he added. “I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.”

In addition to the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, the $60 King James Bible will feature lyrics from Greenwood's song ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’

Trump has been involved in alleged infidelity-related scandals on several occasions. In January, a jury sentenced Trump to pay $83.3 million for defaming E Jean Carroll by dismissing her claims of sexual assault when the former Elle contributor spoke out in 2019.

A previous jury ruled Trump to be liable for sexually abusing her in the mid-1990s when he was married to Marla Maples.

The jury selection for Trump's first criminal trial in New York is scheduled for April 15.

In the case, Trump faces 34 charges of falsifying financial records related to payments made to his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, who gave adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 shortly before the 2016 election in exchange for her silence on an alleged affair with Trump.

The purported affair happened in 2006, following Trump's marriage to Melania Trump, his third and current wife.

In the lawsuit, Trump has entered a not-guilty plea, and even though he acknowledged the reimbursements, he disputes the veracity of the illicit relationship.

Internet hails Liz Cheney for trolling Donald Trump

People on X lauded Liz Cheney’s tweet as they mocked the Bible-thumping act from the embattled ex-president scrounging for funds to support his multiple legal challenges.

One X user remarked: “WOW, just when you think Trump couldn’t get any lower, more disturbing, more vile, or more pathetic – he proves us wrong."

Another user said: "Christians should be appalled and ashamed of Trump. Grifting off of God’s Word is a new low. Trump is a conman NOT a Christian. #TrumpsReligion #TrumpBible #Grifter"

Another user wrote: "That's perfect advice Hahaha hahaha"

One user remarked: "Spot on Liz."

Another X user asserted: "There's just no bottom to his corruption."

Finally, this user tweeted: "How embarrassing it is that he couldn't answer simple questions about Bibles."
