Sunny Hostin questions Britney Spears’ decision-making capacity amid recent 'questionable' conduct
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'The View', co-host Sunny Hostin voiced her apprehensions about Britney Spears' well-being following the end of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021.
According to Dailymail, Hostin, a legal expert, drew parallels between Britney's situation and that of Wendy Williams, who is currently battling dementia.

Reflecting on her involvement in the #FreeBritney movement during the conservatorship, Hostin expressed her initial horror at the circumstances, stating, "I thought, you know, her children were taken from her, and her parents were taking money from her, and 'Free Britney'."
However, now that Britney is out of the conservatorship, Hostin questioned whether she is still suffering, highlighting, "Sometimes I wonder. It seems she is still suffering."
Co-host Sara Haines joined the conversation, emphasizing the inevitability of suffering but raising a critical question, "It's whether she is capable of making decisions for her life."

Hostin's concern stems from Spears' recent social media posts, including a now-deleted video of her smoking and dancing in various racy outfits while expressing her desire to lose weight.
Britney has also shared controversial content, such as nude snaps and a video from last year where she danced with knives – a clip that prompted a welfare check from the police.
Britney's liberating journey from conservatorship
Britney's conservatorship, initiated in 2008 with her father Jamie Spears as a co-conservator, came to an end in November 2021. In her memoir, 'The Woman In Me', released in October 2023, Britney detailed the impact of the conservatorship, describing herself as a "child-robot" and expressing how it stripped her of her womanhood and creativity.
Hostin had previously discussed Britney's memoir on 'The View', highlighting the challenges faced by the pop star under intense media scrutiny from a young age.
Hostin acknowledged the difficulty of growing up in the spotlight and drew parallels with her own experiences, expressing gratitude that her youthful indiscretions were not captured by cameras or social media.
As the conversation unfolded on 'The View', Hostin emphasized the need to consider Britney's capability in making decisions for herself post-conservatorship, saying, "And is she capable? Because we have seen some things that have happened that's questionable."
