Nicole Kidman's strained relationship with Connor and Isabella

Connor and Isabella Cruise have not been seen with their mother, Nicole Kidman, since 2007.

In a 2018 interview with Who, Kidman opened up about how she safeguards her relationship with her children, saying, "I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships."

She added, "I know 150% that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

Recently, Kidman surprised fans when she joined her husband Keith Urban, whom she married in 2006, on stage at Nashville's Big Bash New Year's Eve event, as per DailyMail.

Kidman’s mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, died in September at the age of 84. The star shared the news through 'Babygirl' director Halina Reijn, who read a statement on Nicole’s behalf during a panel at the Venice International Film Festival.

Her message read, "Today I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after, that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed."

Explaining her decision to leave the event early, Nicole said in the statement, "I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me, she guided me and she made me."

She also expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken."
