ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Former President Donald Trump claimed that he has garnered more support from Black and Hispanic communities since his arrest and the subsequent release of his mugshot, according to OK! Magazine.

Furthermore, the embattled 2024 presumptive GOP presidential nominee asserted that his mugshot is more famous than similar photographs of singers Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.

These statements were made during a conversation with a group of prominent Black Republicans, which included former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and Florida representative Byron Donalds.

The conversation took place at a barber shop in Atlanta, Georgia, where the MAGA figurehead spoke with them over the phone.

Trump made these claims about his mugshot from his 2023 arrest for attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The ex-president insisted that his mugshot was "the best."

What did Donald Trump say during his barber shop conversation with Black Republicans?

"It just beat Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra by a lot," former President Trump remarked, seemingly referring to the two singers' respective mugshots.

In 1938, Frank Sinatra was arrested on charges of seduction and adultery.

Even though Elvis Presley was jailed twice in his life, one of the famous photos that many people mistake for a mugshot of the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ singer is a military photo.

"But that’s the number one mug shot of all time. It’s, it’s really an amazing thing," Trump went on to say, adding. "Since it happened, the support among the Black community and the Hispanic community has skyrocketed."

"It’s been amazing, really been amazing," the former POTUS said. "You know, in one way, you say, gee ... not too bad. But the truth is, it’s really a lovely thing when I see that we have great support now in the Black community and in the Hispanic community."

In 2023, Donald Trump became the first former United States President to be criminally charged.

Trump faced four indictments, with his initial mugshot taken in August of the same year following his arrest in Fulton County.

The indictments included charges of racketeering, solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, conspiracy to commit impersonation of a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit false statements and writings, conspiracy to commit filing false documents, filing false documents, and making false statements and writings.

In a noteworthy occurrence, the 78-year-old also became the first former President of the United States to be convicted of a crime earlier this year.

A 12-person Manhattan jury bench found him guilty on all 34 counts related to the falsification of business documents associated with a hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election. Trump's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 11.

Internet mocked Donald Trump for boasting his mugshot

One X user remarked, "Watch Byron Donalds humiliate himself. He doesn't look happy, the men in the barber shop looked bored and frustrated, and Trump is going on about how he's just like black people because he has a mug shot. Cringe-worthy."

Another user said, "Looking forward to seeing how Trump's "black people love me because I'm a criminal defendant just like most of them" message works out for him at the ballot box. The fact that the media is just sleeping on Trump's unvarnished racism here is astonishing, but not surprising."

Another user claimed, "He thinks all people of color are criminals."

One user wrote, "So he’s basically saying that blacks and Hispanic respect criminals. Like WTH. He’s so racist it’s unbelievable. Why anyone of color would vote for him is beyond me."

Another X user quipped, "Who is the governing body over mugshot rankings."

Finally, a user tweeted, "That's just ... embarrassing and insulting on its face. I hope these men reject Byron and the jerk on the phone."
