WASHINGTON, DC: President Trump and Mark Cuban put politics aside Monday, May 18, as they teamed up at the White House to push cheaper prescription d**gs through TrumpRx.

The president joked that the billionaire entrepreneur made a “big mistake” by backing Kamala Harris in 2024.

Trump was asked about partnering with Cuban despite the former Dallas Mavericks owner endorsing former Vice President Kamala Harris during the last election cycle.

“Well, he made a mistake,” Trump quipped. “It was a big mistake.”

Cuban appeared amused by the jab and later brushed it off while speaking to reporters.

“He was playing,” Cuban said of Trump’s remark. “I’m not going to go there; it doesn’t matter.”

Trump and Mark Cuban lean into their unlikely partnership

The two men, who have known each other for more than two decades, have often sparred publicly. But Cuban has also repeatedly said after the election that working with Trump was necessary if it meant tackling issues he cared about, particularly healthcare costs.

As the two stood together on stage on Monday, Trump complimented Cuban’s appearance before saying they shared one major goal.

“You’re looking good,” Trump told him. “We have the same thing — one thing — in common. We want to make people better and keep them wealthy.”

The atmosphere stayed notably friendly throughout the event, with Cuban making it clear he was at the White House only to discuss healthcare.

“My politics don’t matter to this at all,” Cuban told reporters afterwards.

He also waved away his past criticism of Trump as “last season.”

Trump Rx expands with 600 generic d**gs

Cuban attended the White House event because his company, Cost Plus D**gs, is joining TrumpRx as part of a push to lower prescription costs for Americans. Trump announced that 600 generic d**gs are being added to the TrumpRx platform, with Cost Plus D**gs, Amazon Pharmacy, and GoodRx all participating in the effort.

“By incorporating this massive catalog of low-cost generics at TrumpRx.gov consumers will now have one source to ensure that they’re getting the lowest possible cost on their prescription, so they have a real option now,” Trump said.

Cuban emphasized that healthcare affordability should not be treated as a partisan issue, arguing that voters across the spectrum want the same thing.

“The goal is to reduce the cost of healthcare, and we’re 100% aligned,” he said of his work with Trump.

He doubled down while speaking to the press later. “My politics don’t matter to this at all,” Cuban said.

Instead, the billionaire entrepreneur framed healthcare reform as his main focus moving forward.

“I’ll align with anyone,” he said. “If you’re going to make healthcare cheaper, you’re my new best friend.”

Mark Cuban says healthcare is the mission, not politics

Cuban founded Cost Plus D**gs in 2022 with a model designed to bypass traditional insurance pricing systems. The company sells medications at cost while adding a 15% markup along with pharmacy labor and shipping fees.

The company also publicly lists what it pays manufacturers for medications in an effort to increase transparency in an industry long criticized for opaque pricing.

Cuban said his mission is to bring down healthcare costs in the United States, where medical expenses routinely outpace inflation and remain one of the biggest financial burdens for Americans.

While Cuban once flirted with the idea of launching his own presidential run, he made it abundantly clear Monday that he has no interest in entering politics himself.

Standing outside the West Wing in sweltering 92-degree heat, Cuban was asked whether he would ever consider a White House campaign of his own.

“Hell no,” he remarked, dripping in sweat. “Too hot.”
