MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump went on a scathing rant against Robert De Niro on Truth Social after the Hollywood actor appeared as a mouthpiece for President Joe Biden at the former president's hush money criminal trial in New York.

Outside the Manhattan criminal courthouse on Tuesday, May 28, the 'Goodfellas' actor slammed Trump, calling the 2024 presumptive GOP nominee a "loser" and a "crappy real estate hustler," according to Mediaite.

Donald Trump says Robert De Niro suffers from an incurable case of 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'

In his Truth Social post, the 77-year-old MAGA strongman wrote, "I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA."

Trump further claimed, "Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!”

In a stunt that elicited conflicting responses from the media, the Biden campaign brought De Niro and two police officers present on January 6, 2021, to the Manhattan courthouse.

Addressing the press, the 80-year-old actor stated that if Trump wins against Biden in November, he could "destroy the world."

"If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted," said De Niro, adding, "Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city but the country, and, eventually, he could destroy the world."

On Tuesday, CNN political commentator SE Cupp questioned the Biden campaign's decision to turn to De Niro, calling it a "bad idea" and suggesting that other "victims of Donald Trump" would have made better surrogates than the Hollywood veteran.

She argued, "You had an actor who’s obviously very angry at Trump, but I don’t know why his opinion would matter more than someone else. There are millions of victims of Donald Trump. Robert De Niro isn’t one. I would tell their stories."

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's rant over Robert De Niro's appearance outside the Manhattan criminal courthouse

One remarked, "Unlike Trump, Robert De Niro is not a criminal defendant," and another added, "I guess that's Biden's idea of bringing out the 'big guns' what was that supposed to accomplish? It's more clear than ever that this is a political attempt to further humiliate Trump and his supporters. There is no crime!"

A person wondered, "Since when did the likes of De Niro and Hamill had any political influence over voters? It's not like they lived extraordinarily in the service of people. Clearly, De Niro is out there because he's scared. What's hiding in his closet?"

"De Niro is a waste of time. Few listen to him & young people don’t know him. To most he’s like any Hollywood loudmouth assuming they get how the middle class lives. Most disregard them," declared someone else.

Another person stated, "His career is way down? He was just nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor this year…sounds like his career and acting skills are still valued, in demand and recognized as brilliant…"

One more quipped, "Haha DeNiro is living rent free in Trumps head!"
