Whitney Cummings rips Democrats for 'holding up a body' in 2024 as she roasts CNN on their NYE broadcast

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Comedian Whitney Cummings roasted Democrats and CNN while appearing on the very same network for the New Year's Eve special broadcast on Tuesday, December 31, reported the Daily Mail.

Cummings briefly accompanied network host Anderson Cooper and his co-host Andy Cohen on the show, when she poked fun at the events of 2024 with a series of harsh jokes.

The 42-year-old opened by calling out the Democratic Party for initially standing by outgoing President Joe Biden's decision to run for reelection in November 2024.

Incidentally, Biden had to drop out after his disastrous performance in the first debate against GOP nominee and President-elect Donald Trump in the middle of the year.

"Democrats couldn't hold a primary this year. They were too busy holding up a body," stated Cummings, before taking a jibe at the ultimate Democratic nominee, outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris.

Cummings commented on the nomination of Harris without her taking part in the primary election this year, observing that "it was amazing that the pro-choice party didn't give their voters one."

"Kamala was forced on us so hard, you would think she was patented by Pfizer... or Moderna, whichever one's... oh God, Andy just gave me a very scary look," she quipped at surprised-looking Cohen.

However, the comedian was far from done as she took on CNN next, saying, "I'm now playing 3,000-person shows, which is about the viewership of CNN these days."

Network anchor Cooper sportingly took the jibe, and was soon subjected to another one about his former co-host of the event.

"Was that thunder? Are you sure? I thought it was Kathy Griffin screaming at you from the street. Are you sure? I think she’s cursing," said Cummings as the weather took a turn for the worse.

According to the Daily Mail, Griffin co-hosted the NYE special with Cooper from 2007 to 2017, before she was fired for a controversial photoshoot where she held a fake severed head of then-President Donald Trump.
