GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: Former President Donald Trump escalated his immigration rhetoric by accusing President Joe Biden of engaging in a "conspiracy to overthrow the United States" through his lenient border policies that have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter the country, reported ABC News.

Addressing his supporters at a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Saturday, March 2, the GOP frontrunner claimed, "Biden's conduct on our border is by any definition a conspiracy to overthrow the United States of America."

Trump's comments came two days after his and Biden's dueling visit to the southern border to analyze the worsening migrant crisis, where the incumbent called upon the former to work together to pass the bipartisan border deal.

On the other hand, the GOP presidential hopeful used the border visit to blame the President for rising crimes, linking it with illegal immigrants. He also took the example of the recent murder of a University of Georgia student, Laken Riley, by an illegal Venezuelan migrant.

Donald Trump calls Joe Biden a 'threat to democracy'

Trump's rally speech, coinciding with his GOP caucus trifecta victory in Idaho, Michigan, and Missouri, attacked the President and his lax policies on the border.

The GOP frontrunner labeled his successor a "threat to democracy," claiming, "He goes after his political opponent, which nobody's ever done in this country. They do it in third world countries very well."

Further into the speech, Trump expressed confidence that his opponent's attempts will not succeed and instead, it would make him stronger.

"Biden and his accomplices want to collapse the American system, nullify the will of the actual American voters and establish a new base of power that gives them control for generations," the White House hopeful said.

Later, he repeated his theory at a rally in Virginia, alleging that Biden and his team were attempting to gain migrants' votes in the upcoming election by signing them up.

Trump's constant attacks came ahead of the Super Tuesday on March 5, when more than a dozen states will elect their GOP presidential nominee.

Responding to the accusations, Biden campaign spokesman Ammar Moussa said in a statement, "Once again Trump is projecting in an attempt to distract the American people from the fact he killed the fairest and toughest border security bill in decades because he believed it would help his campaign. Sad."

The long-awaited bipartisan border security bill endorsed by Biden failed to survive the Senate floor in early February after Trump pressured the GOP Senators to thwart it to prevent his opponent from a legislative victory ahead of the presidential election.

The border security issue has become a focal point that could be decisive in the potential Biden vs Trump showdown in November.

Internet accuses Donald Trump of projecting

Netizens slammed the former President's remarks against Biden on the deteriorating migrant crisis at the southern border, saying Trump was projecting.

One user labeled Biden's remarks as "More Worthless nonsense."

"Correction. He’s projecting. Accuse the ither side of what you’re doing to get the heat off of you," another person claimed.

A third user added, "That’s exactly what he is doing. Typical right wing tactic. Accuse your enemies of doing what you are guilty of doing."

"He’s such a liar. He doesn’t know how to tell the truth," a fourth response read. Another user wrote, "Same old lying bullshit with Trump. Sounds like he’s talking about himself."

Someone else said, "Projection on his part - he does it all the time. Accuses someone of doing or planning to do sonething he has done or plans to do."
