Angelina Jolie's children oppose her plan to leave LA amid career setbacks and wildfire concerns
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie is reportedly eager to leave Los Angeles as she grapples with mounting frustrations over her career setbacks and the ongoing public scrutiny of her high-profile divorce from Brad Pitt.
However, her six children, Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, are strongly opposing the idea of leaving Hollywood, sources revealed to Radar Online.
Angelina Jolie's Oscar snub
Angelina Jolie’s latest film 'Maria', a biopic about opera legend Maria Callas, was expected to mark a major comeback for the 49-year-old actress.
However, she was overlooked for an Academy Award nomination which reportedly left her disheartened.

Industry insiders claim that Jolie believes the snub was influenced by the negative publicity surrounding her bitter divorce battle with Pitt.
Adding to her desire to relocate are concerns over the devastating wildfires that have plagued Los Angeles in recent years.
The actress has grown increasingly wary of the city’s environmental risks and sees a move as a chance for a fresh start.
Angelina Jolie's children refuse to leave LA
Despite Angelina Jolie’s eagerness to start anew in a different part of the world, her children are pushing back.
The actress had assumed they would be open to relocating with her, but she failed to anticipate how attached they are to their lives in Los Angeles.
“Angie assumed the kids would want to come with her, but what she underestimated was how much LA means to them,” a source close to the family shared.
“They’ve built friendships, started pursuing their own careers, and have no interest in abandoning all the opportunities available to them in Hollywood,” the insider added.
Zahara is currently enrolled at Spelman College in Atlanta while the rest of the children still live with Jolie.
Jolie’s Cambodia connection and long-held dreams
For years, Angelina Jolie has been developing a large property in Battambang, Cambodia, where her humanitarian foundation, the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, is headquartered.
The actress had envisioned a peaceful life there, surrounded by her children in a self-sustaining family compound.
“She’s always hoped her kids would embrace the idea of moving to Cambodia with her, but as they’ve gotten older, their dreams and ambitions have taken a different direction,” the insider explained.
Angelina Jolie's tough decision ahead
Ironically, Angelina Jolie’s efforts to encourage her children’s careers in entertainment have now backfired.
She has repeatedly hired Maddox and Pax to work on her film projects and she recently co-produced the Broadway production of 'The Outsiders' to nurture Vivienne’s love for theater.
“She’s kind of shot herself in the foot because now her kids are passionate about the entertainment business, and moving to the middle of nowhere just isn’t appealing to them,” the source said.
Speaking about Jolie now forced to take a difficult decision on whether to stay in Los Angeles for the sake of her children’s future or follow her personal desire to leave, the insider revealed, “It’s made things very tricky for her because she really doesn’t want to leave any of them behind."
